SS Lines for 1998 ST1100 ABS/TCS II worth it?

I ordered the lines
I will be interested to hear what you get in the kit, the parts photo on their website shows only 8 crush washers. When your kit arrives would it be possible to get a photo of the parts ? many thx

This is like the stock photo they use for like all abs assemblies I think lol. The do have a pdf guide for installation with photos, but not of the lines. Themselves, I'll post the photos when my kit comes in, hopefully soon, it hasn't even shipped yet.

Kit arrives tomorrow! The bike is basically a skeleton right now, will be an easy install. I plan on having the system fitted this week.

Are you planning on videoing the replacement , would be a nice Youtube video

How was the kit you received ?
Good quality fittings, everything labeled and there is a PDF on the site with pictures for installation.

It does NOT include replacements for the rubber brake lines on top of the swingarm. Also those male fittings on the OEM tubing were so corroded on the rear that I'll have to order new lines to replace those as well.

These lines aren't included in the kit.

This male fitting is corroded to high hell. No amount of 10mm wrenches, lubricating oil or vise grips could pry it loose. I'm going to replace that oem tubing and those lines under the tank today as well.

Also repacked the ABS modulator air vavles with silicone grease, and cleared the air holes. I do not recommend anyone else to do this unless you absolutely know what you are doing.

I recorded most of the installation. Let me know if these links work.

Brake lines Removal

Brake Lines Installation

Rebuild your brakes if you suspect a problem! This is why my rear brake went out. TONS of junk in the lines coming from the abs modulator in the rear, and a busted OEM tubing that would create a vaccum sucking in road grime from the dirtiest part of the bike.

Galfer Does NOT supply these hoses with the kit. The will need angled banjos and 10mm male fittings. I have measured them and will post the specs shortly.

@Widowmaker , would it be possible to see some photos of the assembled bike , it will be good to see how the red brake lines look against the colour of the tupperware ?

I can snap a few later today. All of the tupperware is off the bike however, I'm waiting for two lines to arrive to start putting it all back together.

@aSTerix I am still waiting for a couple more lines to finish up the rear, this is how the front end turned out with the red calipers and hoses. Very subtle as most of it will be hidden behind the tupperware20200527_175839.jpg20200527_175833.jpg

Big difference. I still cant lock up or activate the ABS, aside from one time I managed to activate the ABS from a fast stop from 55mph.

Lower fairing is off in the photos. Was in the paint shop. 2k miles so far after the brake rebuild.
Thanks. I've only been able to lock mine when on gravel... was testing my ABS.

Experienced riders brake progressively, so we dont tend to even grab a handful of the brakes even in panic situations, which is good on non-abs bikes. There's a video by Fortnine that explains this scientifically lol
