Hope you have calm winds on the stretch between Kansas and Colorado. Anytime I've gone that way, the cross winds have given me a beating. Make sure you fill up every opportunity you can especially if you are taking the smaller roads, the cross winds will chew up your miles/gallon.

Yea, last year i spent two days in a truck stop motel in kansas city ks. Seems kansas was making a funny, sleeting, snowing , raining and blowing all at once!
i ate some lousy food there! Will be heading there in the next few days. I remember the afternoon gusts well
If u want gas problems, try utah on a sunday morning!

Somewhere in ky! My face hurts from smiling! Was on a two way one lane for about 15 mi. Curvy as hell! A road was closed for piping and they let me thru! The whole climb and decent just for me!

Feels like kansas but its kentucky. A little overcast but will hit the high 70’s today! Heading south!

Well, i found another steep curvy valley, and at the bottom was a sweet suprise! Had breakfast with the hippy chicks! They accused me i had an accent and i assured them i certainly did not, and that everyone else did!
the best $6.00 meal ive had in a while!

Then take 147 back to 49. I could keep you busy in Tennessee for days ...

In missisippi! Its a little humid and feels great. Heading for new orleans tomorrow. Actually, im not too interested in n.o. Its a starting point for me to follow the coast west to texas. It looks like there are some nice things to see

Im on the naches parkway and it is beautiful. I might catch a little rain today but gonna keep going towards new orleans. I love this empty road!

The Trace is 9 hours top to bottom if you don't stop for lunch. It is a very peaceful ride with very little traffic.
A lot history along the way also.
