400,000 miles on it now! I did a 202 mile ride today and the Black Pearl is new again! 3 times new now!!

If you don't know the ST1300 speedometer only goes to 199,999 and then it rolls over to all new again. I hit 350,000 December 3rd 2022 and decided I wanted to try to hit 400000 in less than a year. I made it with 2 days to spare. 50,000 in a year was almost all fun to do so no big deal HAHA.

The Black Pearl has been to 49 states, DC, 6 Canadian provinces and 1 Mexican state (so far). I've rode to Alaska twice, as far north as Fairbanks twice and the Arctic Circle once.
Moved 243 tags in the STowners Tag game in every state and most of Canada. (The Oahu HI tag was on a 50cc rental!!)
I changed the oil the first time at 440 miles. I used GN4 oil that one time and then Rotella T6 at 2,000 miles. I've changed the oil at all 10,000 mile intervals with nothing but Rotella T6 oil. Usually 15W40 oil. So 42 oil changes.
I usually use Walmart ST6607 oil filters. My ST uses about a half quart between the 10,000 mile oil changes.
99.99% of the gas has been 87 octane.
One single K&N air filter since around 30,000? miles. Cleaned and re-oiled at looong intervals (up to 80,000?).
Car tire on back since 61,880 miles (338,120 miles now).
Double Darkside or a rear tire on my front wheel since 120,000 miles.
44 MPG average per the fuel MPG long term average meter which I try to reset once a year or once a long trip.
The bike has never been inside a dealership, all maintenance and all tire changes done by myself.

My bike is a 2006 ST1300 bought new by me on May 23rd 2009 as a "leftover" new bike for $10,500. I added an Audiovox cruise control, a GPS, a radar detector, the Honda trunk and a Russell Daylong seat shortly after. Not much else in options.

Major service items:

1 rear shock and spring at 180,000 miles or so. Exact data lost. Replaced the original unit with a used low mile police bike shock and spring.

2 sets of fork seals. Once below 60,000 and once at 322,000. Do the math, the fork oil was in there 262,000 miles and was working "fine" to me. The sliders also still looked good but I replaced them top and bottom parts at the 322,000 seal change. The forks were not worn (looked "fine") but I rotated them 90 degrees so they wear at a different area now.

4 Ujoints. They seem to have a normal life of 125,000 but one was way less.

1 fuel pump somewhere around 225,000 miles. Second fuel pump this summer at 362,168 miles.

Clutch slave cylinder seals at 315,000.

New Honda thermostat at 371,266 as the old one (Turbo Tom unit?) was sticking after 320,000 miles.

5 batteries, all cheap units like lawnmower type except the original Yaesu when new.

During the last fork seal change I looked over at the radiator and it had lots of bent over fins. I spent 5 hours straightening them once before so this time I bought a like new part off evil bays and replaced it at 322,000 miles. The old unit was working "fine" but I think the bent fins had a major affect on my cooling.

I replaced a working fine alternator with a used (77,000 mile) alt. at 206,000 miles in preparation for an Alaska trip. That used alt is still in there and now has a lifetime mileage of 271,000 miles.
2 sets of the flange hub bearings. The small bearings in the spline hub. Honda number 91052-KZ4-J21
1 set of Honda front wheel bearings at 252,700 miles.
1 set of Honda rear wheel bearings at 332,507 miles.

On the above bearing change I didn't like how worn the spline hub splines were looking so I bought another evil bay crashed police bike part, an entire rear end and drive shaft and ujoint for $90.
So at 339,610 miles I changed the rear end (pumpkin) with a used part off a police bike with 22,000? miles. So I replaced (used) splines male and female parts and the rear pumpkin and the spline bearings in the spline hub would be now replaced (used), also the drive shaft and the Ujoint.

My front brake discs still measure in tolerance per the manual at 4.2mm but do have a few grooves.

And so @Igofar can sleep without a Valium pill I did change the brake fluid once. At 83,750 miles. That was entirely too much work for me so since then I just suck out the reservoirs dry and replace that much fluid every 2 years or so. No SMC part replacements yet. Brakes work "fine"!!!!

I still ride the bike like the day I bought it. A little fast and lot of far. I normally cruise along at 75 mph for hours and hours....

Here's today pic with all the dirt and I rode in rain today.

So what you are saying is - the secret to a well functioning SMC is just to use it more? I am screwed. ;)

I can attest.
Got my '08 after it had sat 3 or so years. Maybe a little longer?
Once I took it, and Larry helped me replace the SMC, I have quintupled the original miles, and guess what?
No more SMC issues.
So now that I'm about 10% of Raymond's mileage, I guess I've about worn it out, huh?

Valve checks/adjustments?
Sometimes there just isn't enough time to do it all.

Actually, I checked them 3 times up to 118,000 miles and one kept checking a tight half thou under spec. and measurements didn't ever vary. So at 118,000 just for the experience mainly I adjusted 3 valves I think, to bring most up to the center of the spec. Going off memory as I lost some work data due to a file loss back in 13 or 14...

I checked them once again and no big changes. Since it's apparent to me (blind faith?) Honda makes good valve parts I haven't checked them in the last 200,000 miles probably.

I might check them again just for grins. :)

That shim kit I bought and the loose shims I've had are the biggest waste of money ever. HAHA
