I reckon you were along for part of the party every now and then ....
I've rode 3 to 5 THOUSANDS of miles before trying to loose him and every time I look back in my mirror he's right there, 8 feet off my saddlebag. But, I am glad he keeps up because we all know where the excitement comes from at campfire.

I recall once he was seems like right there on the "backseat" once with me for 139 miles. Like maybe from the Rivers Edge Campground Fairbanks to Yukon River Camp on the Dalton Highway for a stranded bike rescue. But no pictures were made so it never happened...

What is the black sheep tribal thing?
I see the little doll he’s holding up.
Curious, Rob
Black sheep tribe is akin to the secret squirrel kind of thing. We could tell you all about it but we don't really know how it started or even who all is a member. Most were inducted when we woke up at camp in the morning and the squirrel err Black Sheep was sitting on the bike. And now you don't know any more than you did. But T Padden is the head sheepherderie.

Congrats to Raymond for putting so many miles on a single bike without and real mechanical issues. Tough to beat one of these Hondas for reliability.

Yep, I've seen Raymond flogging his sheep in the wind and even sharing it with Mr Padden. Certainly a character and one of my favorites to visit with. Funny thing is, you never know which state you might see him in?

I have not been a regular customer of Blackstone Labs for oil testing but I did get the oil tested for this milestone. I entered on the form that I added .5 quarts of oil between changes. I have since found where some of that oil has been going. I have a leaking output shaft seal (drive shaft out of the engine) and a leaking shifter shaft seal. They have probably been leaking for a many miles but within the last 4000 miles they have become worse as in gunk on the back of the engine. I have new parts ready to install.

I'm not trying to brag (much) here but I can only agree with Honda's oil change interval of 8,000 miles using regular oil. My 10,000 mile interval with synthetic has not hurt the engine at all. I think if a guy could stick with it this engine could easily surpass 500K. To recap I have used nothing but Rotella T6 usually 15W-40 but a few times 5W-40 when the 15W was not available and only the best of the Walmart Supertech oil filters (#6607) both changed every 10,000 miles.

I do only ride like a "little old lady who only drives it to the store and church on Sundays".

400,000 miles on it now! I did a 202 mile ride today and the Black Pearl is new again! 3 times new now!!

If you don't know the ST1300 speedometer only goes to 199,999 and then it rolls over to all new again. I hit 350,000 December 3rd 2022 and decided I wanted to try to hit 400000 in less than a year. I made it with 2 days to spare. 50,000 in a year was almost all fun to do so no big deal HAHA.
That is a great deal of miles, Some serious riding!
Congratulations!

Those who know you well, likely do not consider you one who likes to boast. However, with this accomplishment, you certainly have bragging rights! Well done.

As with most engines, most of the wear is on warm up. If you only shut it off to pee, hydrate and change the oil it will run forever. Keep rolling up the mileage!!!!!
