Alternative Moly Grease and Paste

Two pounds for $38? Sounds like a v. good price. This tub of MP should last about 4 to 6 lifetimes, unless of course, you spread it on your toast. :rofl1: Hey, folks eat Marmite and Vegemite, so why not Molymite?

I use the BelRay assembly lube with moly solids. 40% moly. Found it at the local suzuki shop for $12. Was recommended on this site on a different moly thread. Suzuki mechanic said it was perfect for final drives.

Yes but is it NLGI 2? No!

I don't see how we can be happy with a product that doesn't meet all the Honda specs.

There needs to be an Article on the forum with recommended greases and their use, which meet the requirements.

I would never be able to obtain wide agreement!
I believe you've explained why this list doesn't already exist here. The high level of constant popcorn consumption should have been an FBI clue.

We can't even agree on what oil/filter/filter wrench to use so we're going to agree on a list of 'proper' greases (not to mention pastes) to use? :rofl1: :rofl1: :rofl1: :rofl1:

A very informative table by John Heath. Needs another column "Where Available" - country/supplier.

One of the problems faced by members of the forum, not discussed under this thread previously, is that we are scattered around the world and so all products are not available. In addition, one supplier has told me that there is currently a wide scale shortage of specialised lubricants, and the shortest time to him is 3 months.

Having spent days researching this topic during our lock-down, I have only found 2 in UK that meet Honda's recommendations and are available:-

Rocol MTLM (not Dry Moly Paste) on Ebay

Molykote G-n (not G-n Plus) from Directnine.co.uk

Hi Skin, check out Molyslip in Toronto. They have products that meet the specification and are reasonably priced. I’ve used them on both the ST and my GL650 Interstate before it and no issues.

Here’s a link to their website.
