I had a 2 stroke RD400 back in the day. By back in the day, I mean very early 80's. I think the bike was a '76 however. It was a bit beat up but the fun I had on that thing. You could wheelie in any gear. How I survived to the age I am is a mystery.
I gave this some more thought and have decided that on my HD, due to the placement of one's feet on the footboards, his legs are even with or in front of the front cylinder and until one puts a foot down to stop, the engine heat is not a comfort problem. I do not know what the heat is like on a passenger's legs.
