... You can never tell w/ old bikes by the number of discs.
That was the only difference between the 850T and 850T3; the T had a single disk up front and drum rear, the T3 had 2 disks front and a third disk rear.

Believe me: it's the most comfortable bike I've EVER ridden; and the one that get's the most attention when stopped - and I've owned old BMW's, Honda's, Triumphs, Ducatis, MV Agustas, Aprilia's, Moto Guzzi's, and almost everything else :D.

Looks like you just left Marfa headed toward Van Horn, TX in that picture.

I loved the German design but hated the BMW dealers!
Living in Europe, the K1100LT was the first bike I could call perfect for me. Very reliable and offering the top of the tech in the 90s.
No shaft problem, ABS, fuel injected and excellent protection and handling.
I had 4 of them, yes 4!
Weekend ride with friends, from Paris to Barcelona or Germany.
No radar then on highways, like being able to navigate at 120 mph for 10 hours and stopping just for gas.
I like to call it the last reliable BMW, after this generation maintenance of Munich bikes became prohibitive for my taste.
A concept very close to the ST, dont you think?
