Brake Hose Compatibility

I need to replace the front brake hose on 2004 ST1300. The correct part number should be 45128-MCS-G02. But I can't get it anywhere. Instead, I found 45128-MCS-R11 seems to be available, and it's for 2008+ ST1300.

Has anyone ever replaced this hose? Are they compatible?

The short answer is maybe. The long answer is that the first 5 digits are the part number, the next three digits are which bike it fits and the last three are the contractor designation.

If there are two more, that indicates a painted part.

Here’s a link to a good explanation of the Honda part numbers.

I’d also check an aftermarket brake hose supplier to see whether they have two (or more) different parts for the application.

I checked all the reputable parts houses I've dealt with ... "not available" ... however, RevZilla shows "6-8 weeks" availability.

A change in the last three characters means a different vendor or minor revision in the part that links back to the previous part number. It should fit because the new part superceds the previous. I don’t have much experience but I served as the parts manager for a year in a Honda/Triumph/Piaggio dealership

I placed order with Partzilla, revzilla and couple local Honda dealers with the G02, they all canceled my orders and said they couldn’t order source the part.

there are many shops in ( anywhere ) who can, if required, 'build' that custom hose for you.
Agreed. For hard to find brake fluid hoses, I've simply removed the part, drove to a reputable custom hose maker, and had it made on the spot - in and out in 30 minutes.

Very nice! I have never known this can be custom made. Will try.

Also give Galfer a call, years ago they sold stainless braided lines pre-made for the ST1100, not sure about the 1300 though. They can also make custom lines too.
