Kymco mopeds and E-bikes.
That should work. I would especially enjoy looking down on LiveWire riders. Do they have electric noise-makers to make potato-potato sounds? How do they leak oil? I could look down on the Integra owners because their step-through is too high (while the Vespa owners look down on me for the same reason). This is complicated. Maybe we could just learn to get along.

We could fit all Livewires with authentic klaxons! Super retro!

As for leaking oil, I'm sure that a Scottoiler could be adapted.

Smart fellers like us ought'n be able to figger this out!

Yep, low low low cg makes any weight these have almost disappear once moving along. My Burgman is documented to be around 278 kg (613 lbs). Lighter than my old ST1100 or CTX1300 (which is the same weight as the ST1300) and I have never had an issue with any of those... especially after getting used to the almost half ton weight of a Gold Wing. The Kymco is more than 110 lbs lighter than my Burgman. Sure there are other bikes in the same class that are lighter but they don't carry that weight nearly as low as any scooter. I like how one review put it: a mid frame mounted engine in a bike dressed like a scooter.

btw- you don't change the oil in an E-Bike, you replace it after it has leaked out. Just tape a jug on its side to the rear with the cap off to get the full experience. Also must occasionally replace the playing card clipped to the forks due to the wear on it from the wheel spokes. Use 2 cards if you want a deeper tone.

Vespas seem to be notoriously inefficient. I recently saw a relatively recent Vespa 150 advertised as using "only" 4.3l/100km, that's poor! On my PCX150 I average 2.3l/100km.
I think it may be talking about the PX150 which has a 2-stroke engine and was discontinued after 2016 because of tightened emissions standards. The quoted fuel economy of the current 4-stroke Vespa Sprint 150 is about 2.5l/100km, or 94 mpg. It still misses the PCX150's economy, but not by a factor of two. Heck, the Vespa 300 is rated 3,1l/100km (75 mpg)!

Actually the AK 550 weighs in at 210 kg (462.9 lbs) dry. (edit: since originally posting this I have found many references to the weight of the AK 550 being as earlier reported, 226 kg (498 lbs) but the factory claims the lighter dry weight I had been reading about before this). The TMax comes in at 218 kg (480.6 lbs) wet.
It still comes down to if you want a new super scooter in this class (500cc +) in the USA then you really only have one choice... Kymco AK 550. If you don't mind a few years used then there are more choices in the USA... Yamaha TMax 500, Burgman 650, and the AK 550. Oh, and the Silver Wing if you can find one, but that's going back a few years.

400 cc or less scooters are available from many makes still.

A shame the BMW C650 is no more other than in used from a few years ago. The engine and tranny for those was also made by Kymco when it was a good buy but then BMW went elsewhere for the core and quality dropped way down until that scooter was dropped.
