No-Mar has a Third Hand tool that is absolutely terrific!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I saw that earlier in the thread, but so for have been able to get by without one, may check it out.

Forgot to mention earlier in my post that the first time I changed my tires was in January. Had the tire out in the cold garage for a few days but when I was ready to change it brought it in and set it beside the wall heater, yea a 1933 house, for a few hours then ran outside to change it. Definately easier to work with warm rubber.

I don't really have a technical answer other than Silicone is forever. Relatively speaking that is. Rhuglide soap (for tires) turns tacky when it dries. Silicone will stay slippery forever. Generally it wouldn't pose an issue but if you took a nail and lost air, the bead might separate from the rim (when you want it to stick if at all possible.) Then there is the possibility of having it migrate to the tread, etc. I don't know, I suppose it does the job at a minimum of risk but I would stick with soap to avoid any possible problems.
