I'm looking to buy a Givi 56L case, the Amazon ad shows it being almost 19 5/8X19 5/8X24 5/8 inches in size, my question is, is it really that big, or are they using the shipping box size? Can anyone post a pic on a ST 1300

This is the best pic I've got at the moment, pretty sure mine's a 46L Givi case rather that the 56L also.

I have the Maxia dimensions 23" wide 16" depth 12" height. 2004 will have all the plastics and mount back on Thursday and if you would like a pic just let me know and will post

How did you wire the lights? I've got the Givi E215 Monokey plate on my ST, installed by a previous owner, but it has no place for the electric contacts in the lighting kit. ‍ I could MacGyver it with some JB weld, but I'm curious if there's an easier neater solution. TIA

Post a picture of what's coming out of your top box now, it will be easier for solutions.

I don't have the top case yet, I'm planning the install. I intend to get the V56 case that STrider shows installed, that's why I quoted his post.
The problem is that Givi only has the E215 Monokey plate for the ST1300. It doesn't have a provision for the electric contacts that are part of the E160 light kit for the V56 case.

Ok, mea culpa! My Givi monokey plate does have the knockout for the electrical connection. In my defense I saw the remark on Amazon from one of the vendors selling the E160 lighting kit, that it was not compatible with the aluminum versions of the plate, which mine is. I have no idea of the age of the one on my bike, so when I checked it for the knockout I didn't look closely enough. Looking again, even though it is aluminum the spot for the connector is where it should be. No MacGyvering necessary

Yes, to everything said in response to your questions @ARsouth40

If you go with the Givi E160 kit then you can wire into the brake light circuit without cutting wires if you have the terminals and connectors (I refuse to cut OEM wires if it can be avoided). There's a bundle of connectors to the rear of the right side valve cover where the rear brake light switch connects to the harness. There you can pick up the brake light. I've shared pictures of those connectors here in the past, but I can post them again if you'd like.

If you choose the Admore product, then you'll need access to the taillight, brake and signal circuits which may be hard to pull off without cutting wires.

The Givi E160 kit is more complex than that on the E52 case with the E97 light kit. On the E52 the lights are in the bottom half of the box so the only contacts are between that and those you install in the Monokey plate. However on the V56 they're in the lid, and those brilliant Italians (I am one) chose to use a second set of contacts to bridge the gap between the bottom and the lid instead of running a wire across the hinge. Terrible design IMO

I had the contact set up but after a year of on and off with the trunk - it started to mis align and the lights didn’t come on. Then I hard wired them to my brake light that has a flasher so it adds to the rear view when I’m braking - I like the v shape as it’s uncommon so peeps pay attention more. I also added leds to the trunk red lens wrap around - hard wired and tacked down the wires with a glue gun. The wire ends have a connector to remove the set up

Yes I agree the lid was suspect too.
