Just found my newest sweetheart......_20180404_090950.jpg Been looking for a year now. Picked up a 2013 CRF250L. _20180404_090918.jpg 100% stock except for a tail rack. Here's the best part.........wait for it.....only 363 miles...!!!! Tires still have nubs on them. Owner had oil changed each year, and a new battery. :)
_20180404_090817.jpg. I was having trouble finding one that was stock. Too many with pipes and stuff, trying to get more power. Which usually means....ridden hard. So, I was about to buy a new 2017 at about $4700 plus tax and license. Granted the '17 models are improved with more air flow and bigger exhaust. But that only equates to about one extra horsepower.......big deal..
So, a 2013 was good enough for me. Plus this was only $3500 off Craigslist.......

Sold the 05 _20180319_100049.jpgso I had space to fill......but not in my heart. One for dirt and gravel roads, and my 06 ST for my need for speed....:bow1:.

Anyone else got a crf250l.???

That is soooooooo nice, and a Honda!
What BHP, about 30?
It'll be lovely on the gravel roads, 4 stroke I take it?
Enjoy.

Four stroke, water cooled, fuel injection, gear driven counterbalance. Stock generates 24 hp. My 08 crf230l which is air cooled and carburated only makes 16 hp. The 250 revs way beyond what I feel comfortable doing...like over 13k rpm. Most hp is made at about 8k rpm.
Best part is no choke, no kick start, and lots of suspension travel....for old guys...:)

Nice score! I had no idea that Honda put so much tech in a 250cc engine! What where those engineers smoking??

Oh yeah, this is the company that made a bike Hailwood ride.

The crf250l has been Honda's best selling model the last three or four years. Hard to find a good used one. Good intro bike for new riders was Honda's intention, but I think there are more older riders buying them for a second, more versatile, lighter bike. Perfect for neighborhood hopping and errand running. Plus it will go forever...... it's a Honda...!

And you too shall be banned ....for life...... from any and all fun things in WA STate.......:nanner1:

And, just for that.....you have to attend NEWSTOC or STOC-TOBERFEST.....just so you can see how small the dent is......and you and Tim can gang up on me all you want.

So Mister, which category would you admit to join? I am trending to the new rider, as you are only slightly more aged than I, and I am young. BTW, David and I would not gang up on you, as we can not have a battle of wits with an unarmed man. :) I sure hope you don't know any of your border patrol folks...

Dude... you must have been hovering over Craigslist waiting for the ad to post. I've been casually watching and saw a 2017 up in extreme northern ID that I was going to PM you about. But, it was another $1k+ over what you paid.

Congrats!!! I need to come check it out. I might cage it and bring you a bit of firewood for NEWSTOC... if there's a cup of coffee at the end of the ride. :pint

That's the first thing I thought of when reading your post. There are times when getting my ST out of its cramped parking space isn't worth the effort for a quick trip. I like that little bike.
