Heat vs Model Year

I've probably felt more heat in stop and go traffic (mostly stop) during construction season going thru Montreal on my old R75/5 wearing jeans. I have spent a couple of days in Arizona at 113 F and found it generally hot/cooking just walking around in gear. Was ok at speed. Up here in the great wild north (Canada) I find the warmth off the engine to be a bonus most of the time. Riding an '05 with just shy of 200,000 km.

filling that gap
I have a photo of that, somewhere. It used a short piece of small size plumbing pipe split tube insulation, to fill the gap. My Corbin has some elastic fabric there, for the same function. Seems effective in the lower position,,, which is needed,, due to my short legs,,,, CAt'
