Who has the front PR4GT in stock? I got tired of waiting and wrote Michelin directly-

I have been patiently waiting for the front tire to my matched set to be available... Pilot Road GT in size 120/70-18. Any idea when this will be ready for purchase in the US?
If this tire is delayed, which other pilot road would be ok on the front of my ST1300? Thanks.

Thank you for your email and your interest in the Pilot Road 4 GT tires in 120/70ZR18, Dave.

A date for these tires will be announced as soon as it is available. You are welcome to check back with us periodically. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Michelin does not recommend mixing tires due to safety reasons. Putting a pilot road 3 with a pilot road 4 is not recommended.

So what now? Pay to return? Keep and get another set? I'm not liking this company much at the moment...

I had a PR3 front and a PR2 rear and they did fine!

I have two rear and one front PR2s in reserve. Guess I need to get that other PR2 front before they disappear! :eek:4:

I guess that my tires will just implode as I have different brands of tires on my ST :22yikes:

Just put a PR4 on the rear of my ST1300. Had a PR2 front sitting in the garage so that is now on the front. Very happy with the PR3s 16K on the front and 10K on the rear. Could have gone further but with a 2K trip out to Big Bend and west Texas next week, decided to start it with some new chicken strips ;)

Good luck with the relatives, Valkman. No tyre dealers I found in the UK or even Germany would ship to the US, so it may be the only hope for now.

Even though you guys totally rebuked any reservations about mixing series numbers, I really wanted a matched set of the latest and greatest!

Then it happened late last night- Found a racing store in NC that had one front left in stock... Price was same as everywhere else, but had to pay shipping.
Hope it is worth all the trouble and cost above the PR3's... With my luck, Michelin probably tried to pull all the 18" GT front tires in the US due to some defect they wanted to keep quiet

Edit: Got an Email that the PR4 I located was mislabeled in their computer, so no go on the front.

If you use ebay, there are a number of places that still have PR2s (F&R) and PR3s (F&R)

[QUOTE;1724919]I always fit a matched set....Thats my problem.....Ouch[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I have the same problem....that's why I have two new rear PR2s and one new PR2 Front sitting in my garage right now. And soon, I'll have a second PR2 front. Just so I'll have them when I need them! :eek:4:

The GT is suggested tire for the ST according to michelin. PR3s are no longer being made in our front size.

I have a set of 4 GT's on order from Sporttour here on Cinti. Rear is in, waiting for the front.
