For myself in the foreseeable future I see riding limited to day trips. Up early, hit the road and then home by 5 or 6.
If Quebec can initially deny a citizenship application from a PhD candidate on a technicality about a couple of chapters in her thesis despite the fact she was a French speaking woman from France, why not turn away anyone they choose. Can Quebec turn away non-French speaking people?
I found that when I lived in NYC, I tended to ignore the tourist attractions until I moved away. Same thing in other locations. I wonder if the locals in these provinces recognize the beauty that surrounds them and are any different than I was/am.Well, on the bright side, the locals will be able to enjoy all the tourist locations without those pesky tourists.
A little unwarranted sarcasm I think. NB is relatively isolated. They have only 120 positive cases, zero deaths, and an infection rate of 160 per million people and they want to keep it that way. They are probably very concerned about their border with the province of Quebec where there are 40,000 positive cases, 3,200 deaths and an infection rate of 4,250 per million people. Its interesting that only the tourists can transmit the virus. Business people cannot. Wow! Who knew.
I'm also grateful that we have government officials who are educated enough to know that a gathering of "X" number of people is safe, but that "X+1" puts people at risk. Its interesting that only the tourists can transmit the virus. Business people cannot.
Wow! Who knew.
But aren't they allowing people from NB who work in Quebec to still go to work? Can they not bring it back to NB? Or will they work 1 day and quarantine for 14 and then work 1 day again?A little unwarranted sarcasm I think. NB is relatively isolated. The real risk to NB is outside people, not their own residents.

So glad that these passive aggressive posts are adding so much intelligence to the conversation.I'm also grateful that we have government officials who are educated enough to know that a gathering of "X" number of people is safe, but that "X+1" puts people at risk.
With intelligent restrictions like that in place, it's just a matter of time before no one ever gets sick from a virus again!
I have no idea what their process is for essential workers who travel to Quebec and then return to NB. That said, whatever is in effect must be working as their rate of new infection at this time is virtually zero over the last 4 weeks. Quebec, obviously, does not have this under control as the numbers, below, indicate. But aren't they allowing people from NB who work in Quebec to still go to work? Can they not bring it back to NB? Not at all. After watching months of arguments, I've decided that maybe I should look at things differently. Maybe I should just trust that Government really cares about protecting me, that I should do as I'm told, and that I should go along with what other people think. If nothing else, I'll be with like-minded people, no matter the outcome. Group think can be wise, and there's always safety in numbers. So glad that these passive aggressive posts are adding so much intelligence to the conversation.
For the children!Yes, but if it saves just one life, then the destruction is worth it.
Isn't it?
I wish more governments were this proactive. Then maybe no one will ever get sick or die ever again.
Darn tootin'!For the children!
Wow! 14 days without going home for a shower. Let government deal with that.probably working a 14 on 14 off schedule
That's what I have been doing and still getting in a fair amount of riding. For myself in the foreseeable future I see riding limited to day trips. Up early, hit the road and then home by 5 or 6.

Cherie and I have discussed our summer plans and our trip to Ireland is off and we won’t be doing our annual road trip. Next week is her birthday can’t take her out for dinner so we are planning to pack a picnic and head up along the lake and enjoy the view of the waves. We will see how the rest of the summer goes but I see us sticking close to the homestead. For myself in the foreseeable future I see riding limited to day trips.
