Are radar detectors illegal in Oklahoma?
Last time I rode through Oklahoma (Ada) I watched a state trooper confiscate one, as well as write a really big ticket for its use, as well as a separate ticket for the speeding.
Oklahoma don't mess around with speeders! This was about 10 years ago IIRC.

I've got a Escort 8500 X2. I've found that the higher up you have it mounted, the better the reception and warning.

A lot of communities are using speeding tickets as a revenue source. One small town I went through in Arizona had 3 marked cars using radar.

I think that is what VG2 means?
Greg
VG2 interceptor is one model of detector detector as are, Spectre III, IV.
Radar detector detector detectors  in your radar detector, use the same technology to detect the detector detector and turn off the radar receiver. (Receivers use small transmitters in their receiving circuitry)

Who detects whom is an ongoing battle and manufactures get to sell you the latest and greatest model. :D

I have been a fan of the Escort models for many years. They have circuitry that stops most false alarms from door openers and other non speed radar signals. I used other brands at times and had so many false alarms they were just annoying. Anyway speeding or not I think it's a good idea to use one. It would save you during those times when your not in a hurry and just let your speed creep up accidentally like going down a hill. I haven't fitted a RD to My St yet but probably will some time. I need to get a fuse box and some outlets installed first. Back in the 80's in a cage I was ticketed in Oklahoma 72 in a 55 maybe. I thought I was safe as I had a front door running interference and my RD. An airplane was clocking everyone, I topped a hill and there were 3 or 4 LEO's :cop2: stopping people, they had about 6 cars pulled over. Darn it, I should have had my CB turned on. The good old CB another good fuzz buster.
