For Loan Sk flowmeter for syncing st1100 carbs

Good one UP, if you need, give my name out if yours is not at home and someone needs it asap.

Yep, and with winter being here, there may be more than one asking at a time so feel free.

Same here, mine sets in the garage a lot. Long as I get it back, happy to ship to anyone who needs it.

Any chance you fine gentlemen might know if this is also the correct one for use on a 1992 CB750 Nighthawk? It's not been done since the bike was new...

I've never done this Phil, cuz the bike just always runs great.
Maybe I could grab this from you at Der Dutchman in May, and give it a go?
Would I need anything else? (other than instructions!)

Without going back and reading stuff about carb balancing, I think I do remember that this is not the best way to do it however? John Oo comes to mind.

OK, time to do some homework.

Hi Phil:

I have a question: Can a 'Carbtune' manometer be used to sync the carbs on a ST 1100? That is the tool that I use for throttle body syncing on my ST 1300 - but I have never done a sync on my 1100.

Yes, a Flowmeter is not the best way to do a balance, but if you want an easy, next best way to do it, it is fine. I have one and my two 1100's have run very well for me for years just using that. Purists will want more exact readings from a set of sticks, but whether the ride will be any smoother is quite subjective.

You'll have to remind me when May come! ;)
Obviously you should be able to get a more 'precise' job using other instruments, but I have had it done both ways, and I can't really tell the difference between either methods. Folks used this device on VW bugs for years.

Michael - I don't know the answer on that one, but John O might want to jump in as he has much more experience on using the other devices.

Yes, that would be the preferred method, over using a flow meter. I've used a Morgan Carbtune on my ST1100 a couple times.
