Speaking of oil... anyone remember where it goes?

As you sit on the bike, near your right shin, you will see a small panel in the large side fairing. Pop the panel off (held on by 1 pop rivet) then remove the silver HONDA engine cover (pull back then slide off). Underneath, you will see two spark plug wires and a black cap. Unscrew the cap and add oil. There is also a small circular glass window on the crankcase to verify oil level. Do you have an owner's manual? There is a guide in there as well.

Lift at the back of the silver Honda cover (there's a push-in clip) first, and then slide it forward (to disengage the tab in slot at the front) to free the engine cover. Then you will see the oil filler and all the plug wires.IMG_0207.JPGst13 one2.jpgst13 one.jpg

My bad, it was in the general section ( :well1: ) and I mistakenly moved to the 1100 section ( :doh1: ).. not in the 1300 seciton ( :run1: ). ... maybe instant coffee doesn't actually work ( :potstir1: ).
No problem, I can't even find the crank handle on my 1300.

drained the crankcase and replaced the filter... where's the oil filler?
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS open the fill hole before the Drain hole. This is especially true on the final drive pumpkin.
Many have drained the final only to crack/break or be unable to loosen the fill nut.

Excellent point. Also, its better to break the fill nut off and put black tape over the hole while waiting for a new valve adjustment cover to replace the original fill nut.

Thank you, Joe, for acknowledging the obvious.
Go real or go home. :rofl1:
(I just made that up.)
But seriously, instant coffee can be combined with decaf, for two of the most useless things in all of history. Well, light beer too, I guess. You get the idea.)
