Before I spent time and or money on a carb rebuild, I would drain old fuel add carb cleaner (pick your poison) a little heavy on the cleaner ratio. Then as Uncle Phil said "Ride it like you stole it!" Run it through the RPMs. The 1100 red line is 8000, the rev limiter kicks in a little higher so you don't worry that about that. I would give it at least 3-4 tanks. Then, if you don't feel any improvement or can't deal with the hesitation, do the carbs.

red line speeds 1st about 55mph 2nd about 85mph 3rd is about 105mph

If you are intent on an ABS model - make sure that it works.

When you turn on the inition the ABS/TCS warning lights will go on. The ABS light should go off within the first few metres of riding it (say more than 10mph) on a smooth road. If it doesn't go out, then the ABS system isn't working. If the ABS light doesn't come on when the ignition is turned on, then maybe the bulb has been removed to hide the fact that the ABS isn't working.

My apologies was thinking ST1300 with EFI so I was totally off subject. Slight hesitation off throttle can also be diaphragms, vacuum line cracks as well as pilot or idle circuitry. Regardless, the carbs should be pulled and gone through completely.

Do you know what air filter is in it. I know with a KN filter mine had a slight slush spot but that due to the filter and stock jetting
