What is the mileage? I would do a compression test first to check piston rings and valve sealing. Not an easy job to change valve seals, you must remove the springs which means removing the whole head...unless you find a way to compress them from the top.

About 92000 miles. First I will do a compression test as you say. Thanks

When I changed the valve guide seals on my ‘93, there was no change in oil consumption. That bike tended to burn between 1/2-1 qt between 3000 mile oil changes. The problem must have been due to oil control rings as compression was in spec.
