Lengthening a lever means less effort is required to apply a given force, but more travel is required for the same motion.

So, if the issue is lack of servo strength, you want a longer arm. If the issue is lack of servo travel, you want a shorter arm.

I thought my issue was lack of strength because it was only opening the throttle about 1/2 way and lengthening the arm cured my problem.

hi and sorry for the inconvenience, I wanted to mount the audiovox cruise control kit on my st1300 but I saw that it is no longer in production !!! could you point me to some other type you cruise? thank you

Some members have installed the Rostra electronic cruise control. You should be able to get installation instructions on this site.

There are several Rostra cruise controls on eBay. Occasionally, an Audiovox will pop up, for sale, on this site, where
someone bought one, but didn’t get around to installing.

It seems like @W0QNX had a couple, but it seems he doesn’t visit here, anymore.
