I took the 2010 out for a little spin last night. It ran fine, other than minor rear brake drag. So I'll rip into the rear brakes tonight and clean them up so I can ride it tomorrow.

It has good pep and seems to run straight. The only real issue is the ABS light is on. I'm hoping a good flush will take care of that.

Byron will be coming by on the 22nd for some tire swapping. I be checking out the front end/brakes while I'm in there.

I pulled the rear brakes apart and found what looks like nylon ribbon melted into the brake pads.

I cleaned things up and put in new pads. We'll see how they do tomorrow!

looks like someone forgot to remove some packing from when it was first shipped out from the factory.
No, it didn't look like any packing material I'm familiar with.

Since this was the longest run it has done in over a year, I think it did great! :D

I think I need to put some SeaFoam in it though.

I rode to Florida and all the way back following the coast looking for SeaFoam. All that I found was so dirty I wouldn't dare put it in my bike..........:lol:
You could have saved yourself a lot of miles just by going to WallyWorld! :rofl1:

So, today, I swapped the saddlebage holders with the ones off the 2004. The ones on the 2010 were very hard to get the bags on with.

That poor 2004 is turning into a donor bike... I'll be having to buy lots of parts off ebay for it.

Some weird goings on with this bike. Some areas look very new, where other areas look like they have some miles. I'm wondering if someone was swapping parts on this bike when it was sitting at the dealership? I just noticed a bolt missing in front of the rear tire that holds down the brake lines. Same with the front forks. I'm thinking those were replaced with used ones.... But I'm not really sure:confused:

A few other oddities too....

You should consider purchasing the +4 year Extended warranty... =)

<D>

I just called Huntington Honda and found out that the 2010 was sold June 1, 2011! Which means that it still has a warranty on it until May 31, 2014!

When was the last time you bought a wrecked bike with a warranty on it? :rofl1:

Now, of course, because the owner took it into Honda and had them do a Damage estimate, that anything on that list, would not be covered. But that tells me that the engine and drivetrain should still be covered! :hat3:
