My friend in PA is looking for a replacement headlight bulb for his '88 R100RT.

His low-beam is out now, so he's looking for a faster delivery than from China.

It takes the same H4/9003 type as our bikes, except his bike only requires one.

There are probably 50 options for 9003/H4s on Amazon Prime. $20 delivered tomorrow.

Just be aware that not every 9003/H4 LED bulb is a good bulb. Some are downright dangerous.

You want this type of design. This is what works well in our ST's as it mimics an incandescent bulb very well. It should be fine in any bike that uses a reflector and an 9003/h4 bulb.

You DO NOT want anything like these. Some of these are actually listed as a bulb for an ST1300 when you google "st1300 led headlight"

I sent him seven links of those I found on Amazon. Only that exact same style.

I found them in more than one color, and perhaps more than one brightness.

Bought them on advice from another member. They don't really look like the first pic above. They seem to output a good pattern though.

I’m running the Auxito 9003/H4 in my NC700X. Very sharp cut off and tightly focused brig white light. It’s 1:1 in dimension to OEM halogen it replaced. Superb replacement.

Edit to correct myself. I am actually using the Cougar F2 LED in the NC700X. This is a superb LED replacement for halogen incandescent 9003/H4 OEM-type bulbs.

My RT and Goldwing use H7s and I have Auxito LEDs in those bikes. It is a superb LED replacement for H7s.

No fans. I found the Auxitos easier to install also.

Look again, there is a hidden fan. The Auxito may be a better led for frozen climates since it pushes the heat into the light fixture.
This might thaw out any frost on the lens. I live in a hot environment so the external fan is slightly better for me but I am splitting hairs.
Either works as they have all the correct design to replicate the original halogen pattern.
Good to have lots of choices as tight spaces may not accommodate the external fan.

Having ridden in sub zero temps I've never had an issue with frost on the lens. Disclaimer if it's snowing/freezing rain etc out I'm not riding, The LED's alone will emit heat and warm the lens cavity even with an external located fan. These other bulbs seem to have the hidden fan on the internal side of the light.

Thanks for enlightening me! I did not see any fans, nor did I hear anything when powered on. I just went back to the bike and leaned down in front of the h/l & can faintly hear them.

Edit: I did seen they sell one w/out a fan. https://www.auxito.com/collections/9003-led-bulb/products/9003-led-bulb-h4-hb2-led-headlight-bulb-9000-lumen

The replacement for the F2 is the. F3, a little more wattage, same fit.
I have them in my 2010 ST.
No problems
