• Start with a City beginning with A
    • This is BY STATE
    • Similar to the Tag contest, there will be one thread per state
    • Post a picture of your bike AND some sign, building etc which clearly shows the city/state you're in
    • The next person posts from a city with the name beginning with B, then C, D, etc
    • You can't posts back-to-back pics, you have to wait for a person to post the next city
    • Once Z is reached, the game starts over with A
    • If your state doesn't have a city beginning with the next letter in sequence, it's okay to skip that letter
    • If the location sits for more than one month, the person that posted that is open to move it to the next letter.

The World Wide game is a bit different as it is by whatever is considered a geographic type of regional category, state/province/village etc. and all those will be in the single World Wide A-Z topic.

Re: WA: A to Z (Round 2)

Had lunch at the Subway in Zillah a few years ago on the first round of A to Z. It was a three hour ride for me to, over Chinook Pass, enjoyed every moment. Chinook should be open around June 11.

If there was a twisty mountain road between me and there... I think I would do it. (Or... maybe you shoudl?). For me, it's a slab ride most of the way. I can choose some country highway instead of the main slab, but not much turning required.

Tim: You should look at the National Tag game. Similar to A to Z, but follows a theme that makes it easy for most to play. For instance, the National Tag is currently at "A Border Crossing. Extra credit if it is a national crossing."

You could grab that on the way down and pick a theme to leave it at. With tents... around a fire.... on a ferry.... with at least X amount of other ST's. Who know?

Belmont, WA...

But, once again, the journey was the thing... not the destination...

Grabbing Deep Creek gives me the opportunity to show off a couple of my favorite buildings....

DSCN6248.jpg

This is a privately owned residence and they are remodeling, just added the copper roof last year. It was originally a one room school house that was built in 1905 to replace the wooden structure that was located across the street. It was in operation up until 1944 and at it's height would have about 100+ students enrolled.

DSCN6251.jpg

The church is located a stones throw up Hwy 2. Originally founded by AW Dean there are records of fill-in preachers giving messages in 1888 for the ailing AW Dean. The town of Deep Creek was founded in 1883 as Deep Creek Falls, but the name was shortened to Deep Creek in 1894. The Great Depression pretty much closed the town and it was disincorporated in 1939.

JRob's Holy Smoke BBQ now has some history behind it. (DaleI and I have long talked about doing something with the old church in Deep Creek. His mind is always whizzing along and he came up with the name...) Thanks for the info buddy.

Todd... I'm glad you're on board. You can finance the deal!

JRob International, LLC prestents:

Holy Smoke BBQ

BBQ, Burgers, & Beans
It's Simply Heavenly

We could have a bike night, we could make it the official meeting place for NEWSTOC and STOCtoberfest before heading up to Seven Bays, we could do rustic country weddings and rent it out as an event center... the possibilities are endless!

Great Hwy 2 frontage and excellent parking lot. The land is big enough to build a state of the art kitchen and use the old building to serve in. Maybe even some live background music or a small stage? (It would give Tim somewhere to sing the Canadian anthem in is red and white tutu, the official opening of NEWSTOC).

Yep.... REALLY glad you're on board! (Let's not tell Kari right way)

Signage, I'm thinking maybe we could borrow our Pentecostal brethren's imagary:

Mf24430483ff8274bb2944e100abaabdd.jpg

We do the cross in blue neon, about 14 feet tall. The fire would be red neon and we could switch it separately, turning the red flames on when we're open.

Could you get that on order? :ang1:

Congratulations to your daughter... a job well done!

Couldn't decide on F, so I got Freeman and Fairfield.

Well I think you've knocked out all of the F's in E WA. Wow!
You would think. However, I missed the most obvious one... Freedom!

And... on the 4th of July? Can you imagine that?

But, there it is... near Rosalia on the old highway.... which I was on!!!

(I must have been in "get home" mode to miss that one!!!) :banghead:
