2018 st1800

I wanted to park the Goldwing I rode next to my ST for pictures and left my ST in a spot where I thought that would happen when I bought the GW back but other bikes had showed up and took the spot.

Dang, I wish they'd get some Wings in soon. I stopped by the local powersport dealer today and they had a new orange/black Slingshot on the showroom floor. Perfect timing, since a check from my retirement fund was in the mailbox today. Then, while walking around in the woods behind the house, I got to thinking (dangerous) that I really need a small bulldozer instead of another bike. Cabin fever is really, really affecting my mental state. It's a good thing the weather was crappy, or I would have asked for a test drive in the Slingshot.

Ride Safe

I test rode the DTC blue model today and it feels a lot like the ST in size, in fact it seemed as nimble as my R1200RT.

I'm surprised to hear that it felt that nimble. That is good news.
But how was the performance compared to the RT and ST?

I thought the GW felt much lighter than 800 lbs. It really felt very comparably to the RT.
I haven't ridden an ST in over a year, but as I recall the RT felt much lighter than the ST.
The GW didn't feel real peppy, but it was very new, only 20 miles on it when I started the test ride.
The DTC shifting was very smooth, and the different ride modes made a big difference in shift points and pep.

Now John - just sit down, have a glass of nice cool water and rest.

You'll feel better soon....

Lucky me... I received an email today from Everett Powersports inviting me to the NeWing Premier. Free food, prizes, etc, etc. I've got a demo ride reserved. If I can get Todd and Jrob to trip over there with me we can get pics... ST100/ST1300/CTX1300/NeWing

As much as I don't want to like it... sure is pretty!

Did you say NeoWing? (almost looks like what you wrote)

I presume New Wing.

Guy on the 1800 forums new GW came in. The bike next to his caught fire that evening in the service bay. Needless to say some shop will be having a fire sale soon. Ouch

 Now that's a bummer! Another good reason NOT to take it to the shop! :eek:4:

I have decided, now with the new Goldwing coming out, EVERYONE not familiar with the ST1300, will be totally confused when they see your ST1300 and will be asking; "Is that the new Goldwing?". Just tell them it's the Goldwing Sport, They won't know the difference! :rofl1:

I had a guy pull up beside me the other day and ask if my ST1100 was the New Goldwing! :D

Wow!

I sure hope Honda gets on top of that one. I would have some of the factory Wing guys fly in for that!

I found this from an old wing world magazine article... If you didn't know better... you'd think it was an ST replacement.

And NOW we know why Honda hasn't been working on an updated model of the ST1300. We now have a hybrid GoldSTwingythingy!

That sure looks like a melted GL1800 Tour trunk to me!

Presumably that's the GW next to the bike that caught fire. Do we know the make/model of the other bike? Don't know what guys from Honda would do. I'd want the FD to look into the bike that caught fire and started the mess. Then I'd want to know from the owner when I could expect my new 'Wing.
