Where did you ride today?

I had it out for another hundred or so miles, and I'd say it definitely helps once you dial the angles of it in. I'm wishing I'd have looked for a wider unit, this one is about 12 inches wide, so I still feel like I'm getting a little bit on the sides of my helmet. But it seems to have taken away the need for ear plugs!

I wonder if I could make my own now that I I have all the bracketry? Probably cheaper to just buy a wider one, lol.

I finally found a wider model, but it's only 14.37 inches vs 11.8 for the one I have. It appears that might be the widest they sell in this style. $25 on ePay, might order one in the colder months for next season.

We had some fabulous spring weather, and a long weekend to boot, so I had a chance to get out on both the ST and also my cheeky yellow VFR. The VFR has been resting in the Mancave over winter (saving money on registration fees) so it was great to enjoy this machine again, and the ST has just received a nice new front tyre so was handling at its best!

Both photos are in the Waikato region, where Aucklanders like me can find empty twisty roads and nice scenery.

I've been trying to wear out my K1600 B's Pilot Road rear tire that has 13,000 miles on it so I'll have a fresh tire for a November ride to California. Can't seem to do it so I rode up to a fantastic BMW rally in southern Virginia (BMW Colonial Rally at Wakefield). Had a great time, fantastic weather, camping, people, and location.

Sorry I missed this question. PR4 GT is the answer. Used for cool weather Interstate rides Florida to California 2 round trips so EASY tire mileage. If I wasn't riding to California again next month, I think probably good for a thousand or 2 more miles. :)

Cup of coffee in Marshall, NC. 39 degrees alongside the French Broad River. Zuma Coffee shop. Warm N Safe living up to the name.

Bones pulled out his notebook when a small group of us stopped here on another cool morning during Blue Ridge Gathering (2018??). Later Rider magazine published Bones’s ride article on Uncle Phil and the ST-O Blue Ridge Gathering.

Had to travel to Las Vegas for some training so a great reason to get some seat time on my ST
Departed home at 4:00 AM to finish in Tucson with daylight. 16 hours later Spent the night. Good 8 hrs rest Then departed around 07:00am MST for Vegas. Did a quick pass over Hoover Dam and made my hotel about 1400. All in all great weather. Saw 41 degrees first morning in Texas, mostly 60’s & 70’s and sun rest of day. Second day started in 50’s. Gas and rest just N of Phoenix. ST was in full sun and temp gauge showed 86 degrees. I unlayered down to a tshirt and summer riding jacket. Saw low of
57 next 2 hrs. Layered back up in Kingman. Lesson learned.
This was my longest trip. Good confidence builder. Heading back home on Tuesday. Still need to plan it. I think I will take the Northern route if weather permits. A lot of unknowns before this trip but enjoyed every bit of it.
Almost forgot. 3 hrs in on first day, slowed down by a car chase. 45 minutes later & 10 police cars a 14 passenger van was in the medium. It looked like a nursing home transport. Nice... UT 12 if weather permits, everyone should do that road.
 
Was a nice enough day to get the AK out on the road. Went the long-ish way, side roads only, to my son's house to help him set up a screen to hide the garbage cans on the side of the garage and to shore up the string of Christmas lights that were up ALL YEAR. Ended up with 48 miles of riding today. Came home to find the last item I needed to replace the rubber on my rear wheel had arrived. A spray can of Yamalube that will assist fitting the new tire onto the rim. I kept reading about NOT using dish soap so decided to be safe and ordered the Yamalube. Reasonable price from Amazon and should last a lot of tire changes... just like most of the other stuff I bought for this job. Only bits I'll have to buy for future tire changes now are the actual tires and some balancing beads. I might buy a kitchen scale to measure out the beads but that's something for the future.

Spent most of day raking leaves and cutting grass. Came home and decided I needed to get on the bike. Only did 40 miles but let snort from every stop sign. Feel much better after that. I only have maybe two weeks before I put her away for the year. Hopefully I’m wrong.
