Where did you ride today?

I rode to Rising Star COE campground. Grady AR. There should be tugboats with river barges passing through on the Arkansas river tonight.

I got lucky today and missed all the storms and it’s a cool 80f here right now. Not bad for Arkansas in late June.

Edited update: If you camp here be prepared to run for the tent when the buzz of mosquito's shows up at about dark thirty. There was a steady buzz in the air all night.

Well, THAT worked out...
My wife takes only her slim wallet when she goes walking. Sometimes when she on an errand she takes a small clutch with the wallet inside. Sometimes when shopping she takes her purse with the wallet inside... with a lot of other stuff (reminds me of what we all stuff into the storage of our bikes when we ride). Earlier today she went walking, then took the car in for some maintenance. After lunch she took off to go shopping... and forgot to take her wallet in the clutch. So she called me asking what to do. Can't go to the bank to get money without proof of ID. Nor the ATM either. So it was decided I would take the wallet to her. She suggested another bike ride.

Rode my AK 4.5 miles to where she was so she could go spend more money. Then another 30 miles to get home. :biggrin:
It was sunny, no clouds, and 91F. Comfortable with all the vents open as long as I was moving along.
 
Not today, but just returned from a three week jaunt across to Poland on the solo. After a few days chugging across France, Belgium and Germany (including a visit to Colditz) we arrived initially in Wroclaw in the south west of Poland. From there to Krakow including a day to visit Auchwitz, that was a sobering day, but on arrival in the car park met these two Polish beauties

From Krakow up to Gdansk on the Baltic coast and then along to Peenamunde back in Germany, home of the V1/V2 rockets from WWII. Then another bimble across Germany, into the Netherlands and finally back to Blighty. 3008 miles but a great trip according to Chief of Staff. We fell in love with Poland, good roads and really friendly people.
 
This time last week I was in the Peak District and spent a day with my friend. After a suitably long time catching up in the visitor centre café, she led us on a nice bimble of about 40 miles from Carsington Water (in my photo) up hill and down dale to the village of Castleton where we had a brew before shortly going our separate ways. Her bike is an extremely shiny Royal Enfield Classic 350, which putters along very happily on the A-roads and B-roads and fiddly little single-track lanes. In those situations the Pan is a bit like steering an overpowered battleship, and the jumpy throttle response at low revs in 1st and 2nd doesn't help, but I managed fine. I was on my homeward(ish) leg of a week's touring in which I rode about 900 miles, in everything from hours of blazing sunshine to torrential rain and floods.

So after staying around the house for too long just because air conditioning I had enough. Id rather ride in the warm weather than be in the ac.

I rode to Umatilla Florida. This picture is to show how cool the Spanish moss in the trees look in 97’ temps. It hit 100 just south of Silver Springs campground on the road just before I got here. It was only 94 back in the trees. Iput the tent up and then went into town for some supper. I got back to camp and after a couple hours it’s down to around 78’. I brought a fan so I should have no problem sleeping tonight. I love being out instead of sitting at home.
