Tuktoyuktuk, Northwest Territory, Canada. Is this in Canada or Alaska?
Yes. I was there at store opening, tuesday morning, july 2nd.Hey Christian- does this post mean that you are riding and that you got your dead battery situation sorted out?

Ahh the memories your trip brings back.
A very smart decision. Some riders south of you are held back with the smoke and road closures. Wishing you safe roads ahead!
I'm sure it would have been easy to find some hot dogs.Couldn't find a local hot dog eating contest so I went for a ride.....111 miles today....Russ,

Just want to show you the respect that deserves, I know you earned every mile. Bravo!Made to the Arctic Ocean. Rained on us. Deep, rutted gravel and mud!! Not a fun ride but glad we did it.
Unless your life needs a personal goal of accomplishing a challange, hobbies should be as enjoyable as possible.Just want to show you the respect that deserves, I know you earned every mile. Bravo!
Well, the saga continues! Pouring rain here in Inuvik. The upper Dempster is very difficult, if not impossible, on a bike in the mud! I am too old for that s***.

We talked to every rider returning from Prudhoe while the memory was fresh and EVERY SINGLE ONE told the same story: it was a terrible ride, nothing worthwhile to do or see, not enjoyable, not worth the effort.
Nothing puts your motorcycle riding goal or endeavor into perspective better than passing some brightly dressed clown apparel wearing, 60 year old yahoo, flying a little orange flag, in the middle of nowhere... riding a bicycle.Much stranger and more difficult endeavors have been attempted in history, than riding a motorbike to Prudhoe Bay.
Raymond, Bob, and I did meet a couple who quit their bicycle dream trip near Destruction Bay. They were trying to hitch a ride south to Haines Junction, after spending the night in a tree, while a bear occupied their tent. Raymond wanted to take a picture of the crying female but Bob (Old Guy) told him it wasn't appropriate.Yeah, I can see how that might happen to minimize your struggle on the AlCan or the Dalton.
Did you get a picture...?

But but she was barely crying. I thought it was from that 28 oz half used can of bear spray she had. The guy was much more sharing with the details than she was.Raymond, Bob, and I did meet a couple who quit their bicycle dream trip near Destruction Bay.
