"all bikes lead to a Goldwing"

I thought I posted last Fall when I got my 2024 Wing but now I have this 2025 Goldwing 50th Anniversary and I am in LOVE!

You traded a '24 Wing for a '25? You the Man. I like the way you think. That is a very sharp bike. That is how I got my '22, guy traded it in on a '25. I suppose the only other option is you totaled the '24? I hope not or at least that you didn't get hurt..

I posted in the Goldwing forum, it is a mix of Impulse Control and my wife's encouragement! I love technology and the upgrade from my ST1300 to my Goldwing is significant and having the DCT is so enjoyable I am riding it a lot more! A few more pictures!

The old man has a pretty good grip on me at this point, although knock on wood I still have my original teeth and joints lol

But Im afraid my “big bike” days are probably over and I am really enjoying the light weight, nimbleness and ease of riding of my NC 750X DCT. I would have gone for an NT 1100 but at 5’5” it was just too big for me I felt after a test sit at the dealer, plus it is probably too much for 99% of the riding Im doing now, which is why I traded my FJR in on the NC 750.

I always wanted a Wing, even test rode one before buying my FJR, but ......

That is a great bike! And the DCT makes it even better!

"Every time I breakdown..."

Son when you crash that's not a breakdown. That's a crash. And shouting "Woo Hoo!" every time you do something stupid doesn't make it "cool".

And with a Windjammer fairing, no less!
Suh-weet!
Before the factory-faired bikes arrived Craig Vetter had it all sewn up. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Windjammer. I sold this bike to buy a factory-faired R100RS in 1977. I wasn't back on a Honda until 1990 when the ST1100 came out. A friend of mine owned the Honda dealership in Athens, GA and I had gone in one Saturday to buy a can of Honda spray cleaner and he said "Hey Lee, we've got a bike now that you are going to like, take it around the loop!" He wasn't taking "no", so I did. I came back with an ear-to-ear grin and he said "You're gonna buy it, aren't you?" I said "Yeah dammit." and did. My Minister of Finance and Adult Recreation had a pretty good sense of humor about motorcycles following me home, so no problem.

My father was a Gold Wing rider. He and I went to the Honda Marysville plant in 1996 for the one-millionth Gold Wing to come off the line - He on his Aspencade and me on the ST. He had a strong dislike for motorcycles until I came home with the '75 Wing. He bought a '78 Wing as his first motorcycle when he was 58 years old. GoldWings were all he ever rode until he quit riding in 2002 because of the onset of dementia.

I was adamant about not buying a GW.. it was an old man’s bike, was not sporty enough for me… blah, blah, blah.. My friends that I ride with all have Wings and some have a couple. Fast forward, I ended up on one on one of our rides, it rained, I barely got wet, handled great, felt really smooth on the highway and my wife said if had one of those I would ride with you more.. almost made me reconsider.. lol

I’ve had it for about a month now, have not ridden it to far yet as I am going through it like I do any new to me bike, making discoveries, ordering parts, changing fluids, cleaning switches and checking bolts for tightness.

Still keeping my ST but it feels weird now after being on the Wing.. I’m not 100% converted yet. Contemplated selling one of the 3 but they all serve a different purpose and as long as I can operate within that purpose I’ll keep them all!
I’ll be Uncle Phil but with different bikes! Lol

All very nice GWs…I think I’m more partial to the bagger style like Donk’s. I’ve seen them with a Givi style trunk and it looks very good, plus, it can be taken off easily. That would likely be my choice (if I was to get one).

I will be putting a rear rack on it shortly. May possibly be the only Goldwing with a soft tailbag.
