GF's '07 NT700VA...

... ah... so we need to break out the umbrellas... ☔

Nah, just strip off the broken and start replacing! Works well! ;)

I won't even talk about that AZST1300 I've been working on since last January!

Shipment to Austria might be expensive.
Already shipping within "the old world" has grown expensive...

And its beyond me why the tariffs for sending items to a landlocked nation like AuSTria are getting exorbitant...
At times shipment fees can exceed the actual price of the goods ordered...
Germany -> Austria, standard: € 25,- (for a small, lightweight item like a front brake lever... nuts!...)
thankfully I have an account at a forwarding agent near the border, and by using this address it suddenly reads:
Germany -> Germany: FOC... aha... :cautious:
the forwarder then utilizes the Austrian mail system for the 'last mile' at less then € 5,-... I just saved € 20,-...

Even shipment fees from UK or France are suddenly cut by half when using the "Teutonic" ZIP code & addy of named forwarder...

But compared to the surrounding countries we also have to pay two to three times the price on food and beverages at the stores...
And mind that those food-chains are almost exclusively operated by German based corps... #idiot tax...

And we have a runner...

Took her (the NT) for a spin around the block, all smooth and working A OK... hands off the bar: straight like on rails...

Even ze GF rode her a bit... approx 15 feet back into the shed... ;)
Mounting is still an issue, still limited movement in the mended right hip, and she doesn't feel fully confident due lack of leg strength...
Time will heal that too...

Next w/e she intends take the NT for a spin around the block herself, if that works we'll might even relocate the bike back to home-base...

Best wishes to ze GF for a speedy recovery.
You may wish to edit the part about mounting to include the words 'the bike' in order to eliminate any ambiguity. ;)

Aww, cmon.. talk about it! 😁

Actually I had a "Build" thread, but it got lost in the Great Forum Purge. :(

I took a 2006 ST1300P (Cop bike), removed the engine to replace a bad engine (owner - NOT ME - ran it out of oil) in a 2005. Both bikes were from Arizona. So I call it my AZST1300.

And that was last May, and I haven't done much to it since.

Because I was busy with these two...

Upon checking riding gear we've found ze GF's NT bag liners deteriorating...
Not the zippers, stitches or seams, the darn fabric itself... :cautious:
(my old, gray RKA liners for the ST lasted well over 20 years...)

found a nice spring/coupon sale, hope they'll hold up better:

ah... more hostile takeover...

urgently need to find an ST1300 thread to infest that with some NT700VA content... 😁

At least I kept it short... I have 193 pictures of the two tear downs and the rebuild... :rofl1:
