Good morning everyone

The delicate aroma of French roast coffee freshly brewed is on its way to you, carried on the early morning breeze. Follow your nose and you'll find the pot of black gold ready and waiting for you.

It's 59°F, still dark, breezy (14 mph from the NW), and damp in Rockville. We'll not get any warmer than this all day, and will drop to the lower 50s midday before climbing back to where we are now around 1600 hours, then drop into the middle 40s overnight tonight. There's a high likelihood of rain showers between 1000 and 1400 hours.

There's a freeze watch, if you can believe it, for about eight hours starting Tuesday morning at 0200. Crazy.

The two traveling sisters are back here after spending more time in PA. They'll depart sometime this morning, one for Arlington VA and the other for Charlotte NC. After that the House of Fun will revert to its usual sleepy self.

I'll work a bit more today on the furniture refinishing project. I don't think I'm going to try to get the thing all the way down to fresh bare wood, but rather go for a general cleanup and partial removal of the old finish before I apply something new to even out the colors. I don't really know how it'll turn out but it'll use up a lot of sandpaper.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

It's overcast and 47 in MA this morning, rising to 49, later.
It'll rain on and off all day, starting around 10:00am and continuing till dusk.
It looks like a wet track day is in store.

Yesterday was spent mostly inside, except for a trip out to dinner. We managed to get the garden tractor battery out to the shed, though. Small victories, I guess.

I sent a text to our son about the AC units, THEN Brenda reminded me that they are up in Canada this weekend, visiting friends. Joe replied back to say that he'd help me on Monday, so that will do.

Today, we'll have a club event at the track, starting at noon.
I don't want to get my aircast wet, so I'll probably wrap the ankle and stuff it into a waterproof boot.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s start, Keith.

Well, today is Judy’s Celebration of Life.
It will be a busy afternoon.

I have more bad news, the middle sister, Joan, is in hospital, in a coma and not expected to survive!
I hear the weather gods are calling for possible snow flurries! Low of 4 high of 8C.
Enjoy your day!
“What Keith always says!”

Thanks for the start Keilth you could give Starbucks a run for their money with a pitch like that
Glad to hear your mitigating the situation with the ankle Steve
We might be getting up to 22 [71.6] which I think could be our warmest yet [?]
ST went back in the carport vs under a cover yesterday thought it looked a bit like rain later in the day managed to get out for a couple errands on it among the stressed saturday drivers
People are funny had a couple good ones this week, went to A&W a rare event these days; asked for the usual, was offered a Mozza burger instead told it's on sale as usual, declined thinking
don't be annoying if I wanted .... blah blah but remained courteous. For reasons unknown, look up - Mozza $4.99 Teenburger $8.99 :mw1: [now I know what that emoji means]
8.99! 4.99! So I tell the person - no later than 8 seconds after paying, hey change could you change it to that other thing it's four bucks!
She's half way between me and the view around the corner where they assemble the stuff and she glances ever so briefly in their direction and says - naw it's too late sorry
I say no it isn't go tell em to change it. She walks back the other three steps from midpoint and says change that order... comes back credits my card recharges so on all nice and easy
No problems, but do you just get more of that as you get old? Alright one more then everybody's got to go back to bed
So I went into the bank yesterday... alright, story for another day
Wish everyone some good weather and a safe ride if you're able, check your tires and pressure and do a good visual inspection

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith!

It rained all night, it's still raining, and it will continue to rain until this evening. Windy as all get out, as well! The temp currently sits at 6°C/43°F and will only get a couple of degrees higher today before dropping to below freezing tonight. Crazy indeed. When I drove along the waterfront yesterday, Lake Saint-Louis (where the St. Lawrence River widens and becomes a lake before its confluence with the Ottawa River) was choppy and very high, but the bicycle and foot paths were still dry and there were plenty of people out. I'll likely do another drive-by today to see how things look.

@Whisker Bill: I'm so sorry to hear about Miss Judy's sister. Too much loss. :( However, I hope this afternoon's memorial is filled with love and good memories. Thinking of you, friend.

Everybody have a good (albeit wet, for some) Sunday, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Thx Keith!
I have a neighbour who actually sold sand in Sahara…(.turns out the Sahara sand can’t be used in concrete).
You could have a future there, just saying.

10˚c/50f, light rain, calm.

Yesterdays work with saws woke up some very dormant muscles.
Everything today includes an oooh/ aaaah!!

Been for a walk uphill, and later we are invited to dinner at a restaurant a 20 minute drive from here.
They serve very good food, but I’m not too happy with the company…
Who’s grumpy?

@Whisker Bill Brian, tough days for you, thinking of you!

Peace and love!
Stu

Sorry to learn of Miss Judy's sister, Brian. While aging does have some advantages (senior discounts?, wisdom), it's also when we start losing family and friends we've known for years, or even a lifetime.
Keith, if your FR aroma is "delicate", are you sure you put in enough coffee? Just sayin'. I want it to punch me in the face.
Well ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but not by much.
Couldn't reach Kerry yesterday when it was time to leave Decatur for the MTBDR film, so I rode up solo, watching the questionable skies for rain.
It held off until I was leaving at 5:30, accompanied by thunder and lightning, so I skedaddled with only a rain jacket.
Oops.
The rain pants and glove covers were not put back in the saddlebag (Why do I resist the word panniers? Too Frenchie maybe?) after the last shower, weeks ago.
I'll write a separate ride report for that mini-adventure, stay tuned.
You should have seen Kirk's car!
He's one of the BDR board members, who i met in Birmingham last year at the South East BDR film launch. He lives in North Georgia, and drives this...

Good morning, all. Thanks, Keith.

Cool and 45, and only reaching 62, with 30 MPG gusts. I’ll complain about this one.

Refilled the hummingbird feeders, as I saw the first one arrive yesterday, and he looked thin and thirsty, after his trip. Now, Teddy and I are headed to pick up our grocery order and maybe look at some bedding plants for the garden.

Last week, I bought the HF gas powered auger. Meant for fence posts, but I’m using it to transplant Hostas. The ground is tough, here on the ridge.

Brian, we’ll be praying for you and your family.

John

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

I don't really know how it'll turn out but it'll use up a lot of sandpaper.

Sandpaper is cheaper than strippers, though.

8C, cloudy and wet, headed to 11C and more of the same. Vastly different from yesterday's glorious day (once I got off work.)

Did manage to get some cinder blocks moved and relayed for the DIL to plant her garden this year in something other than pots. She (we) will need to put some deer fencing in, or she'll just be feeding the long legged woodland critters. We've had bleeding hearts, hostas, lillies and some other plants in there for many years, but the deer really enjoy the "salads."

Hope everyone has a great day, or at least the best they can.

Obo.

Good Morning Y'all, Sunny here for a little while 9 C. Wife is up so I guess we will be going to Church. Yesterday went Home hunting, might have to move cause Metro Vancouver Parks department are getting rid of all their live in Caretakers. Stop by my Wife's Aunt for a short visit, mostly good times. Well time to give Dog her meds and head out to Church. Happy Sunday, G

Two wheels too many.

Just sayin'.
That's usually my first response, too.
And I realized the price of that Acura would literally pay for 10 brand new GSA 1300s.
Ten!
And he said he turned in his new, crappy, top-of-the-line Corvette for it.
I don't know a lot about cars, especially new ones. But that Acura warranted my attention.
Also liked the original NSX of a few years ago.
Even if they have two many wheels.

Morning Keith & All from light overcast skies in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 60F, up from 28F and heading for 71F. There is a slight breeze now, and later the winds will be out of the SSW @ 16 to 29mph.

Brian, prayers of comfort, sent your way. And I'm really sorry to hear about Miss Judy's sister. I'll send her some prayers her way.

We had an Earthquake last night. It was a 3.7, and centered, maybe 10 miles from us. I was up and it was really a sharp hit. Usually the ones we had in SoCal, they would rock the ground. this one was just a sharp jolt.

I lifted the greenhouse by a foot. and I think it will work out much better. It took a bit of figuring to get it lifted though, since I was working it on my own.

Lifted:

I still have plenty more to do to it. Tomorrow, when I get back to it, I'll cut down that old shed and attach it to the lower area I added with the 2x4s. Then I still need to make a new door to it. That should be fun. :unsure-2x:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Welp, it's after afternoon here in SoMD. The "storm" appears to have blown through, leaving a whopping 0.10" of rain behind, some sun and wind. I am nice and caffeinated, TYVM Keith. Now we just wait for the freeze advisory tomorrow night...in late April...southern MD. Yeah.

Yesterday was decent. Got the lawn knocked down and killed two carpenter bees mid-flight...several yet to go. I'll get 'em all...one at a time if I must.

And last night I tried something different by doing deliveries on the ST. I mounted my El Cheapo 60L topbox and gave it a shot. It worked out pretty well except bc I don't have a mount for my phone I missed several offers, and I needed to study the delivery route and remember the address. I'll probably do it more but want to get a mount. Certainly saved gas money over driving and I got more than a few double-takes and stares from restaurant employees as I stood there in my helmet. LOL.

Anyhoo, @Whisker Bill , your family is again in my t's & p's. And heal up @steve3b3 so you're not a grim reminder to every driver on the course.

Take care y'all!
