2026 WoodSToc 4 - Aug 10-15, 2026 - Woodstock, NB

Yes, it was a great time! No rain worth mentioning, although some rain suits did briefly see the light of day, until it became clear they weren't needed. A couple of planned touring stops were well received, and are a worthy concept for planners to consider. As folks get older, there's less interest in high mileage routes. Lots of comradery comes from lots of conversation... Btw, coffee and pie work well! Also, a six day time frame, with Monday and Saturday being travel days, works. For some, trailering a bike, and allowing two days each way for travel, becomes necessary simply because of distance. Hmmm, I may have to do that for OhSToc next year!

On our way to River Run in Kingsclear on Wednesday, we stopped in for a tour George arranged of the Sabian Cymbal factory in Meductic.
It was very interesting and I learned a lot!

Pretty symbolic ride....

had to beat @Obo to it...

Thursday's ride was the long day to Nova Scotia via the Digby ferry. Can't remember when I saw a sunrise and a sunset on the same day, so here we go....
It was a little cool at 11C at 5:30 AM this morning and I was glad for the grip heaters!

Now we're back on land and see the lightning off to the east as we head northwest to the camp on some wet roads.
We were fortunate to miss most of the rain all day. All in all, a great day in the Maritimes.

Low tide @ Halls Harbour (from one of my visits last year....) You can't change the tide schedule! We were about 2 hours late when us WoodStoc'ers got there and it was on the way out.

The low and "high" photos below are about 2 hours apart. The "high" photos are still not full high tide.

Daily Tide Cycle
    • High Tide Heights: Typically reach around 8.5 to 9 meters (28 to 30 feet).
    • Low Tide Heights: Drop down near 0.3 to 0.7 meters (1 to 2.5 feet).
    • Cycle Duration: Shifts roughly 6 hours and 13 minutes between each high and low tide

Sure looks like a ton of fun was had. As Catcher was aware when I notified him a few days in advance, I was unable to come as someone had to be home with an ill cat. My wife flew to NB to be at her friend's place from last Wednesday to tomorrow (her hometown is Hartland). So it was to be me who drew the proverbial short straw and would be at home for this time. Cat's feeling better now after a round of antibiotics. Anyway, there is always next year. Really enjoyed seeing these pictures.

And finally some Friday photos
After breakfast ready to go...
