Bike turned off in Traffic

Pulled the plugs today and laid them one by one on the cylinder head. No spark. I don’t get a voltage reading at the coil either. Per the service manual I should read 12v at the coil.
Tested the fuel pump too. 60psi initially with an immediate drop to 45psi that holds.

There’s a little connector in the tail for the wire harness to both coils. If disconnected there’s no voltage. :think1:I don’t remember disconnecting it.
No start

Dropped into the saddle, pulled the clutch, kicked the side stand into place and shifted into gear. Silence ensued, as well as several more attempts to restart the bike.

That almost sounds like a bad kickstand switch. Does it restart in neutral and die immediately going into gear, every time?

If so, you should be able to temporarily bypass the kickstand switch by jumping the two wires at the connecter together. I would not recommend riding without the sensor though.

I haven’t been able to start the bike since the second event. I have a spare switch in the parts bin.

Well, if it isn't starting in neutral (when the side switch is bypassed) then I doubt that is the problem, I would not mess with it.

Have you double checked your tip over switch? I always thought they killed the fuel pump, but it might control the coils? Any one know for sure?

I’m confused. You tested pump and got 60psi. What made you replace pump anyways. My 2004 st will not start and I am trying to diag it now.
Did you get oem pump?

@Igofar diagnosed the fuel pump. It would produce 60psi but the pressure would drop to 45psi immediately. The ECU not reading full pressure would not send a start signal.
I ordered a quantum pump and strainer. You also need the lower tank lid gasket and the two in tank hose pieces from Honda.
