I'm going to resurrect a dormant thread....I purchased the Olympia Stealth suit on eBay and it arrived today. I have a 3/4 textile coat and textile pants that I wear when the weather is cool, but I wanted and needed something for when the temps climb above 80 and into the 100s here in Texas. I understand that in summer, in Texas, you are going to be hot but want to do what I can to stay with the ATGATT mindset.
The suit is new without tags...excellent condition. Got it for $150 in the pewter/hi-vis yellow. First impression is a quality made garment. Haven't ridden with it yet, but tried it on and found it extremely easy to pull on over my street clothes and shoes (love the zippers running UP each leg, to go with the long diagonal zipper down the chest and right thigh). I am 6-1, 200 lb and based on quite a bit of research and questions posted to others, purchased size XL. Fit is very good. Just a tad snug over jeans and a heavy shirt (which will NOT be the attire I wear under this suit) but definitely not 'noticably tight'. Plan is to wear a thin base layer, or just a pair of shorts under it in warm conditions and then it will be considerably looser fitting.
When standing, the legs are a bit long, but when sitting on the bike with the legs hit right at the ankle (which is as it should be). Arms are perfect, both on and off the bike.
As several people (both on this forum as well as others) have mentioned, I had to adjust the knee armor to get the proper placement. In my case, I raised them to the top of their three velcro slots. Elbow armor was in place once I adjusted the forearm straps. I'm not a big fan of the back pad...may wear or insert a better pad into the suit.
All-in-all, first impressions are very favorable and glad I made the purchase...especially at the price I got it at! Will give it a good road test once the weather warms up (we haven't made it out of the 40s in over a week now).
