Where did you ride today?

Took the Harley up to Meadows of Dan VA for a few miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway & to continue the search for good roads not yet ridden. Today’s standout: Squirrel Spur Road. Enjoyed seeing a pair of nice 1970 Camaros in MoD. About 230 miles.

Rode 44 miles this morning before it got hot. Then mowed the front lawn. Then got a haircut this afternoon. Then needed to go blow off the cut hairs.
OK, not much of that really since I was covered with my helmet and other gear. But still a good excuse to ride again. Rode 47.7 miles tonight for a total of 91.7 miles today.
A few hills. Just a half mile after this there were curves. Typical central Iowa. I prefer not to stop to take pictures while riding through curves. Don't want to miss the fun of riding them rather than stopping and looking at them.

Took a run up through Santa Clarita via San Francisquito Canyon to the Rock Inn (not to be confused with the Rock Store) for lunch. Hooked up with some local Ventura area riders. Nice ride but HOT today, 103°F at one point. Sure feels good to return home to the beach after that.

Did a early morning loop east of the mountains today. Left the house at 06:00 and was home by 09:00. 110 miles with the FJR. It was a stressful week this week and the ride fixed my mentality. I really enjoy the early morning ride on the weekends. Little traffic to deal with and am home by the time the traffic gets heavy. Also the coolness is very much appreciated before the temps get hot. Hit 100 today in the afternoon.

I rode as usual to church in the morning. Fantastic weather...not to hot, not to cold. Perfect. But the real exciting ride was this evening when I was riding to Woodinville to go to a Bible study at a friend's home.

I pulled up in the right lane at an intersection in Woodinville. There's a black Honda minivan in the lane to my left. The window rolls down and the guy inside gives me this knowing look and a "thumbs-up". He made my day. It's always nice to have someone like your choice in motorcycles. :giggle-2x:

Oh...did I tell you? The window that rolled down was the rear window. I don't think he was old enough for a driver's license. Probably about 12-13 years old. BUT...he gave me a "thumbs-up"! :thumb:

Say, I was in the mountains today also.

But unfortunately not in the bike. Driving a Ford Transit van diagonally from Denver to Flagstaff through COLORADO. 285 to 160 and past 4 corners and on to Flagstaff. Some really nice hairpin turns coming down the mountains on 160 but I was driving so no pics. Did switch drivers a few time though so...

I know. Not in a bike... But really wishing hard I WAS on the bike. 😁

Took another early ride with the V-Strom this morning. Left the house at 06:05 and was back by 09:15. 124 miles from my garage to my garage. Rode out 285 to Indian Hills. Got the sign picture and then continued to Evergreen to start the climb to Echo Lake. Echo Lake is at the base of Mt. Blue Sky (Mt. Evans). Rode to the lake got my obligatory picture of the bike and lake and then headed down the other side to Idaho Springs. From there motored about three miles of Freeway ( I-70) and then highway 40 until I could turn and get on Evergreen Parkway. On to to High Drive and back on 285 across town and home.
