An old man died and is walking toward the entrance to heaven.
A sign directs “Women to the right, Men to the left”. He joins the line to the left.
A later sign directs “Single men to the right. Married men to the left. Again he joins the line on the left
A later sign directs “Men who were henpecked by their wives to the right. Others to the left”.
To the right there is a long line of men waiting. He goes left, walking past all that down an empty aisle all the way to a tiny desk at the end. There the clerk looks at him then looks in the big book on the desk, then looks at the old man again, then studies the big book for a bit, and finally looks up, saying “Why are you, of all men, standing in this line!?”
“My wife told me to.”
