Summer of '77 I was pumping gas and an older lady (about 45ish........) drove in with a slightly worn Camaro hardtop and asked me to check the oil while the tank was being filled. Opened the hood, saw the 302, and I then noticed the car was a Z28. So, I mosey over the driver's window and say "nice car, what year is it" She gives me a death stare, tells me its a '67, and no, it's not for sale, goes on to tell me she's tired of everyone asking her to sell it to them. This was her daily drive in Montreal, city of winter salt and slush. Probably rusted to death 40 years ago.
Mine is the ‘69 Camaro.
My first car: 1967 Camaro SS 350, bought new in Dec ‘66. My favorite car is my ‘72 Jaguar XJ-6

Ah. My own first car was a '65 Corvair Corsa with the 140hp (4-carb) engine and 4-speed tranny.
I bought it for $25 and had to repair some burnt wiring to get it going.
You know what's funny??? As in ironic, sad and not a laughing matter?
All of us who bought these cool cars years ago and didn't keep them. Actually, you guys. My first car was a Buick four door sedan with a 2 speed automatic and bench seats.

One of my early cars was a two-door AMC Rebel with a straight six, 3-speed automatic for which I paid the princely sum of $45 CDN….BOOOOORRRRRING.
….but, it had a fully reclining front bench seat and OMG, was that thing useful at a drive-in theatre……
