I'm likely going to stay lower in the list than I have been in past years. Maybe the weather will cooperate enough to let me ride again this year at a slightly lower temp. Rain expected tonight and then temps dropping below freezing tomorrow so...
 
FINALLY was able to get out on the bike today. Another Friday... another trip to my son's house 22 miles away to see my granddaughters off the bus. Their mom arrives about an hour or so later. The roads were clear and dry. Sky was clear and mostly sunny... until sunset of course. Temps were hovering around between 30-34 some of the way on the trip there. And were more consistent on the way back. Only saw the 30*F for a few tenths of a mile before it went up. Like I said, it's 22+ miles up there and 22+ miles back. A total of 44.4 miles round trip but a stay inside of a little over an hour in the middle. I was running close on time to beat the bus going up so didn't stop for a picture. On the 22+ mile trip home from there I stopped at the curb on a side street about 15 miles along to grab this picture of 31.6*F on my temp sensor.

This temp feels colder than I'm used to feeling at this level. No heated grips or gloves. Naked bike so no wind protection. Only a cotton liner inside my warmer gloves in the bar muffs and several layers of good insulation in the jacket and pants. I think I'll likely be able to ride down to around 14*F (-10*C) this way with no problem but not much below that if at all. On my previous bikes with added weather protection and electric heat for the hands I would have been very warm at this temp. Without the protection and electrics... not so much.

That's the coldest ride for me for the rest of this year. Expecting temps in the 35-55 deg range into January. I might be able to ride again though since no bad weather is expected either. Christmas day is expected to be the warmest and clearest of the forecast at 55-57*F. Definitely a brown Christmas.
 
Won't make the list, no thermometer on the bike, and no bank around, but 34 degree Christmas eve egg nog run this morning for about 30 miles.
Recent rain made road salt free. and a sunny day!

Somehow managed to get a scratch on my visor right in field of view. Darn.

10*F right now. But there was freezing fog and freezing rain earlier today and then blizzard snow conditions and 50 MPH gusts with maybe a half inch or more of the white stuff but enough wind to keep the ice on the roads exposed. Expecting a high of 17*F tomorrow rising from 7*F in the early morning but the ice covering the roads is likely to remain for a time. I may be able to ride next Tuesday or Wednesday when temps go above freezing. Maybe. Depending how foggy/humid it remains.

BTW- It is because my bike does not have an integrated ambient air temp gauge and also because there are very few banks with time/temperature signs around that I carry the temperature sensor that I have. Not just for this game but I want to know the temperature while I ride, and specifically where I am riding, during this season so I am aware of what might be the condition of what is on the roads. Not just what the official local area weather station says... which can be different by as much as 5-10*F from where I actually am.

Looks like I'd make the top 10 at this point in time...but the real cold weather hasn't started yet.

37F with a little snowflake next to it on the way to church today. No pics. Not worried about being on the list yet. 37F isn't competitive. It's cold...but not crazy cold. :D

was able to drop it a few degrees on today's 35-mile ride @ 22 degrees and windy with light snow flurries

Needed to use a Veteran's Day meal coupon at Freddy's before tomorrow so went out for a ride to go get lunch. Roads were acceptable. Temps varied a little from 29-32*F. Rode 20 miles with Freddy's just over half way at 11.6 miles. I need to remember to step off the bike and take the picture from a bit farther away and at 2x zoom to get the miles meter in focus. Temp at Freddy's was 31.4*F.

BTW- do what you want with the decimal of the temp. I know most temp displays don't show tenths of a degree but round up or down.

I tried my temp sensor unit in the handlebar muffs pocket but every time I stopped the temp reading started ramping up rather quickly. So I put it back in the tank bag pocket where it holds for a few seconds longer before engine heat warms it up.

Yea I have the same temp meter mounted on the NC, but I don't even have enough time to get it in neutral, get the gloves off, get the camera mount turned on, before engine heat has raised it a few degrees. So, I just use a sign down the road. It usually matches the temp on the app on my phone,
 
Got to go for a ride on New Years Day for once!
Weather was sunny and temps were lower than they have been around here. I didn't get out early enough to get the 17*F that was showing but I did see around 19*F for most of the ride. Bummer that the engine heat sabotaged any attempt to take a picture of that. So I have proof of at least 22.2*F for this ride by the time I got the phone out and took the picture. Rode about 38 miles.

For the Last Ride Of The Year, it was also my COLDEST ride of the year.
Thank goodness for Warm and Safe!
Heated grips and heated seats as seen on the TFT, didn't exactly hurt my feelings.

I am missing the heated grips on my AK or my heated gloves I used to have. Even with the KemiMoto bar muffs my finger tips get a little nippy feeling at 20*F temps even though the rest of my hand is comfortable. It helps using cotton glove liners I have left over from my military chem training kit days. I've decided to try using what my wife uses when going for a walk in cold temps... I ordered a set of very slim/small hand warmer pods that should fit inside my gloves on the back of my hands. I decided I didn't want to spend the $$$ for heated gloves or grips or liners if these will work. I really don't ride enough in colder temps to warrant the expense of much more than that.

I was able to improve my standing by 2° this morning to 27° while out for our Sunday breakfast ride.

I was also able to capture this odometer reading this morning.

If I am able to get out from under the warm covers it may be possible to close some of the gap to mudduc early next week, when they are predicting single digit lows a couple days. Sometimes getting out from under the covers is a big ask though lol
