Anybody add external stereo system?

Hi,

My buddy has a Harley Davidson Electra-glide with a fat stereo system that is quite loud. He doesn't need to wear ear buds. I wouldn't mind adding something like that. Anybody add an external stereo system with amp, etc?

A Road King riding guy at work came in my office a few weeks ago wanting to tell me about his new $600 stereo. I said "that's great John. Now I get the pleasure of hearing your obnoxious stereo AND your obnoxious open pipes when you ride into the lot."

Have you considered a high end pair of ear buds that preserve your hearing while allowing great audio at highway speeds?

External speakers do not work well (in my exp) on the high way. I use mine driving short trips, local rides. For the road I hook them up to my helmet speakers which I picked up at Menards for under $10
