Best oil to use

Looking for peoples views on the best oil to use for my 2000, 31,000 mile 1100. UK based. Thank you in advance.
There have been a lot of threads discussing oil. Try searching for them and you will find an overwhelming and diverse number of facts and opinions.

(hence, the popcorn)

There are endless oil threads try using the search function - right end of blue band atop this page and search for the title of your thread.

The real answer to your question is 'the oil the other guy is using'.

edit, @ddemair just beat me to it....

Ok, I'll have a look. It appears my quite innocent question has cased raised eyes. Ill'not bother again.

There are always opportunities to learn from questions even if they've been discussed before. Mostly, I read here and contribute little since there are so many more learned members. My oil choice is based on what I read here. I hope you don't take offense (it seems maybe you did) with the replies. Instead, take the advice of searching first. I didn't read into the replies as implying that you shouldn't "bother again".

Hi, what I meant was I'll do all due diligent research prior to asking for guidance. They're all just questions and ~I always value other opinions . Thank you for your reply. Keep riding

Don't worry about some unwanted responses, it happens. Keep your questions coming, that's what forums are for.
The Search function on here is helpful once you feel better about navigating this site. Lots of good information and good people.
Take Care

Some folks do tend to put THE EXACT amount of energy into telling someone to use the search function rather than LESS energy just telling them what they prefer...

I usually delete those replies... but that takes even more energy and I'm trying to reduce my carbon footprint.

This is the internet, Joe, where EVERYthing is recycled.
That includes not only our electrons, and our weather, but oil and tire threads too. :roflmao-2x: Sometimes we even recycle our coffee, but we don't tell anybody, as it's considered bad form.

Happy recycling, everyone!

In my younger days I was obsessive about oils, sent used oil from my cages and bikes off for analysis.
I have always been a huge fan of Mobile 1 Extended Performance oil and filters.
These days though, I tend to just use whatever the manufacturer puts in.
The Toyotas get Toyota oil and filters, changes done by the dealer.
The bikes tend to get Honda oil and filters, changes done by me.

As long as you are using oil that meets the manufacturer's specs, oil change frequency is more important than brand :)
