Big 1,800cc Cruiser Coming From BMW

To be fair, Many comments on that site were positive. One even said "Nice jugs" lol But definitely not going on my list.

I'm not a huge "bobber" fan, but as a Factory offering that's pretty sweet, and clean...

I like it! Well except for the muffler tips. The engine looks really good. Very nice lines. This is a really nice homage to retro.

Butt jewelry...

I can't imagine anyone riding more than 15 miles a day on that thing. But, if the main drag of your town is only 1 mile long, 15 miles is sufficient to let you cruise up and down it 7 times on a Friday night....

That thing is just an engine bolted to two wheels...

I rode a bobber once... my teeth nearly fell out & I handed it back to its owner within 2 miles.

I recently rode behind someone on a spring loaded bobber... entertaining as hell watching him be thrown out of the seat on every bump in the road. Couldn't over take him for laughing at him.

Horses & courses, but not for me.

Well my handle bespeaks my appreciation of BMW motorcycles, but I think I would rather have a bent walking stick. They reached way back to the /2 era for the pushrods on top of the crankshaft and farther back than that to the pre-1955 plunger frame era for the exposed driveshaft. Nein danke!

Wow, that's different.

Based on the footpeg, seat, and handgrip positions, It appears that the rider's knees would be up close to their elbows.

Exposed driveshaft... That's why they lost the war...

bet :rofl1:you can ride all day on that seat?!
If somebody wanted to ride 'all day' that's probably not the bike they'd buy. Way back when I got to spend a few hours on an ancient H-D with a hard tail and spring seat. I was surprisingly tolerable. I'd bet that Beemer would be far more comfortable but I couldn't say without actually riding it.

He must have been crushed.

A bobber isn't on my wish list but if it was it wouldn't because I wanted to use it for 100mile jaunts. But BMW might have made something higher than 1mile runs more viable. If the opportunity to ride one presented I'd be on it in a NY minute even though I'm not in the bobber demographic.

To me, the engine is just TOO overwhelming!
Kinda interesting, but I think the cylinders are over done....
I just can't get enthused. Several of my cars have had smaller engines.

How big is the Honda Gold Wing engine????
Wait......it's 1800cc too!!!!!!
But.....at least it has all that plastic and bags and cruise and nav and radio and heated everything.....to make you question if it's still a motosickle or an Accord.

No question about the BMW!!!!

It's not for everybody....

No, but the poseurs and RUB's constitute a lucrative market...

BMW can't even think this way. Their last cruiser attempt was $50,000 too cheap and uglier than a mud duck...
