As with many of you, I have been on the quest for the windshield that works best for me. My latest purchase was the small size Bike-Quip shield from the UK.

http://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/st1300_windscreens.html

I mounted the shield and then promptly took a 9 day 3,000 mi trip. I found the shield to be great for solo riding. The flip-up top of the screen really does a super job.

I am 5'-8" tall with a 29" inseam. I ride a 2009 ST1300 with Gen-Mar risers and a Corbin seat.

I found this shield to be my solo shield of choice. It is a very quiet and smooth ride. For me, elevating it about 2" from the bottom setting had the air flowing just at the top of my helmet and I see way over the top of the shield. The air stream off the shield was very clean and smooth. I had no back pressure or head buffeting at any height adjustment. This was huge improvement from the stock shield or the horrible and tremendously noisy Cal-Sci.

Two up riding was different story. My pillion complained of head buffeting and air pressure that wanted to lift the chin of her helmet. She stands 5' 4".

Bike Quip does make a wider version and perhaps that shield might be better for the pillion.

For two up riding we both found the AeroFlow to be our perfect shield.

So I will be using the Bike-Quip for solo riding (about 80% of my riding) and the AeroFlow for two up trips. My windshield buying days are over. I am now a happy camper.

Just wanted to relay the info and experience....your mileage may vary...

I also have the same one and love it for both solo and two up. No problems noted. It sure is quiet and looks better then the stock screen. :D

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

Looks very nice, is it possible for you to take a pic of it with you holding the original screen in front of your new screen so I can see how it compares in size................:D... sorry for being a pain..............

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

That's a nice looking shield! I look forward to your ride report. I've been reading other reports about this screen, and may order one.:)

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

Thanks for that and yes very nice indeed, i was looking at one of these a while back and I was relauctant to take the plunge to purchase without an unbiased opinion(I look forward to yours).

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

I'd also like to read your report after you go for a test ride. I've heard good reviews about this shield.
I have a Clearview that's 3" + 3" and I'm not too keen on the height. I'd opt for stock height, or maybe 1" smaller. With the Clearview, at the lowest setting, the top of the shield is in my line of sight, plus I get alot of buffing under my arms with the shield raised a couple of inches :(

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

I found that the air pressure against the Bike-Quip's flip-top meant that I could not raise or lower the shield once I was over 45-50mph. I made brackets that raked the shield back by another 5-6? which took some of the pressure off.

I may just have a weak windshield motor, though (although there's no problem with the OEM shield). YMMV.

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

I have had this same shield on for almost 50,000 miles with no problems. The wind noise and back pressure are gone compared to the stock shield. I would suggest this shield to anyone looking for a great shield. :D

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

I purchased my screen from ebay and was totally delighted with it and would personally recommend it to anyone and was looking for one for Stuart's bike prior to his accident

Re: Bike-Quip Windscreen

I've had one for quite a while too and like the way it works. Never had any problems raising or lowering this shield at speeds well over 80 mph.

If I can be so bold to ask, what was your final cost for this shield?

I am 6Ft 6inches tall. The largest shield from quipe was bought early in the summer. I have 15k on the bike sense installing this shield. Its a good shield. My only issue is the spider cracks in the shield ....I have contacted quipe to see what they can do for me ....would i buy again ..YES.....i also installed a micro edging on it and that has helped me also ....

Just got my Bike Quip shield & couldn't get it on quick enough. What an improvement over stock. I can ride with it in a lower position (than stock) if I choose with no wind in my face. Quality made product & looks great too (got the tint). Thanks Keith!!!

I'm going to give one of these a shot... I'm curious if this will be better or equal to my stocker + Laminar lip combo.

Maybe I should dig my Bike-Quip out and give it another test - I'm obviously in the minority here!

The delivery time from Bike-Quip is right & yes the box will probably be trashed but Keith uses air pillow packing material. I happened to be here when it was delivered so I got to check it before the guy left.
