They are not. Allstate's estimate is comically low, like $1500, ignoring obviously damaged items and some of the largest, including the radiator and oil cooler, which are actually leaking.. So on top of the stress of everything else, now I've got to deal with this crap and probably get my lawyer involved. I wouild like to think they are just incompetent, but this appears to just be bad faith.I've yet to have had the honor, but I've read lots of firsthand accounts.
From all I've learned from these, bigger bikes are better, at least in survival odds for the rider. (Who cares about the deer... they can be replaced!)
I'm also glad that you survived, and I hope your insurance is more kind and thoughtful towards you than the hoofed animal was.
Unfortunately, you don't know how good your insurance is until you have to use. They are not. When I got my first bike at 16, I had Dairyland in Alabama. Most young kids don't know diddly about insurance -- I surely did not.I heard good things about a company called Dairyland, but I have not investigated them yet.
