Yes, the 31’s. I misppsted. Not a single flat! Not a single problem. Im pretty sure im gonna do tires and badsIf you're going to be riding a long distance, probably a good idea to replace them or you may have to change them on the road.
10,000 miles is impressive with what tread you have left. Are those Bridgestone T31's?
You are almost correct. It was a new 31, but i had a lot to learn. I had taken to stopping in the safety lanes for pics and picked up a ton of debris. The final straw was a chink of razor blade.Don't I recall you stating your last trip with new tires had no flats, but the trip before with half-used tires you had like four flats? If so, I'd think you already know the answer to your question.
I know I'd buy a set considering how far you typically go because to me the definition of adventure doesn't include figuring out where to stop on a highway in the desert with no shoulder.
You just had to say something. Not a single flat! Not a single problem.
Thanks! Im ordering them this week. Any exp w the 32’s? I mistyped and have the 31’s.Change them before you go as you will not get another 10,000 miles out of them.
Which means if your trip is of any length, you will be forced to do a tire change on the road.
Those are normally expensive and you don't get the tires you want because most places don't stock ST1100 tires.
Haha! Yup! I was proud of myself! You just had to say something.![]()
Have u thought about the 32’s instead if the 31’s? Im curious. The 31’s were more than fine.Yep I'm facing a problem like yours. Have about 12K miles on my oem front Bridgestone tire and I usually get 15 to 16 out of em. Next month I have an Atlanta Georgia trip coming up all total when I get done riding total trip will be close to 2K more miles so I'll be close. I think the people who say replace before you go are correct. So I'm going to follow their advice and get me a new tire ordered before my trip.
I meant you may have jinxed yourself.Haha! Yup! I was proud of myself!
I know a lot like 31's and 32's but my non abs ST1100 requires bias tires and I tend to stick to the Bridgestone G548 and G547's that came as standard equipment. The only tire that I've been running for the last 21 years. These tires are like the ST1100 as they are dependable last long and give good wet weather traction.Have u thought about the 32’s instead if the 31’s? Im curious. The 31’s were more than fine.
I used to have a dog named jinx! Well, i have plugs and a pump. Seems a shame not to use them!I meant you may have jinxed yourself.
Gorilla tape works better! A bit slippery in the rain tho!
Don't tell the bike if you run radials and it will never notice .... - BTDT - thousands of miles!I know a lot like 31's and 32's but my non abs ST1100 requires bias tires and I tend to stick to the Bridgestone G548 and G547's that came as standard equipment.
