Having read up on common issues with the Pan, I had a good look underneath at the exhaust clamps when I took delivery of my new-to-me 2008 bike a couple of weeks ago. The bike came from an independent dealer but with a fresh MOT. One of the silencer clamps was very corroded and definitely needed replacing, the one on the other side was nearly new. The one on the join pipe was notable by its complete absence! The gasket was doing a good job and there was no leak or noise, so better than just a push-fit with no gasket. I bought a set of 3 stainless clamps from Bike Quip which are designed to be fitted without taking the joints apart. While I was under there, I cleaned a lot of gunk out of the centre-stand pivot and lubed that, stripped the stand of corrosion and put a couple of coats of hammerite smooth on there. Good afternoon of tidying up.
