Carb Sync Preferences??

Hi all,
I am thinking of doing a carb sync on my ‘91 st1100 just as a normal maintenance check.

I have a vacuum gauge set but I’ve never been a fan of fiddling with hoses and the like.

I saw a few videos recently of people using a SK Syncrometer and I feel like that might be much easier to deal with than vacuum hoses.

Has anyone had any experience syncing carbs with one of those? What was it like?

I’m considering purchasing one to try it out but I’m not too sure.

I have both, only used the tubed one. The gauge you jam into the snorkel is quick and dirty. To really refine it you use the tubing amd gauge.

Ah, I see that’s fair. The bike already runs good so I guess tubes are the way to go!

Obviously not as precise as the gauges and stuff but it will get it close enough for most folks.

I have a 4 gauge set from Amazon, only thing,needed to Teflon tape the screws in the restriction valves. You will also want a long #2 JIS screwdriver.
Cost was about 40 Canadian dollar.

Then you know how they can act quite hyper-nervous...
The Morgan Carbtune needs to be hung 100% vertical (hence I've an IV-stand in the shop...)
The electronic ones have a HIGH/LOW sensitivity/damper switch, easing the procedure...

I also have a synX Classic, which is hyper nervous, thus drives me a little nuts at times...

Ahh I see. My gauge set has an adjuster (I think it just closes the valve a bit) to ease up the twitchiness but digital sounds like a pretty nice upgrade too!

Trying to edit my last post, needs to be long enough to clear the Air cleaner, which I leave on. Bright flash light helps to see the adjuster screws

A ton - it takes longer to remove the body work and air cleaner than it does to sync with the Syncrometer.
