Regularly 7C (44F) on my morning commutes at the moment - commute being just under 40 miles complies with the 15mile requirement. I finally put the thermal liner back into my textile jacket yesterday morning. Next week the liner will probably go back into the trousers too.

Maybe a month or two away from needing heated clothing.

I once rode my Goldwing through upper Montana in November. When I passed through Shelby,Montana ,it was -7 F. That was the coldest ride ever. I had to stop occasionally to warm my hands. I would just leave the bike idle while I tucked my gloves on the exhaust pipe. This would take awhile even though the bike had heated grips. If that wasn't enough, later on going through Glacier Park area there was about 2 inches of snow on the road. It was cold enough that it didn't turn out to be a problem.
-7 F with snow on the road is INSANE. Bike tires at that temperature must be like hard plastic. Windchill would immediately freeze any exposed skin (although on a Wing there would be a lot of protection, but still...).

That has to be some kind of record, one that I am willing to let stand unchallenged forever.

I was out on the lake riding at -15F on my YZ250F had a ball of fun never worry about negative temps while I was having fun doesn't care what was windchill? I was going about 30-45m/h at times. And I'm looking forward to the winter up here at the frozen tundra of the land of 10,000 lakes. I guess we just knew how to live with the cold weathers up here. :rofl1::rofl1:

I grabbed a 46 degrees on my way to the Motor Bureau this morning. 46 mile round trip. Need a pic? I got one lol . Had my heavy gear on, no electrics..except for the grip heaters.

Good to be back playing the game

I saw 48° this morning, almost half of what the temperature was last week. Still wearing the textile jacket and pants, a little cool after the 45 mile commute, but it's better then sweating. Probbaly need to break out the non-vented gloves for the morning ride and then use the summer gloves for the evening ride home, just like the faceshield, clear for morning ride and mirrored for evening sun.

Really weitd ride home last week. Left base at 90°, dropped to 74° when I headed down the bluff to the Mississippi valley, then it was back upo to 90 going through the downtown area and back at upper 70's when I pulled into the drive. Strange to get 4 major changes in 45 miles of riding.

Since this game is only ONE week and a day since the start I don't know what all these posts about riding in any temp before the first post in this thread are about... other than simply to say you've been in cold temps before. In that case, I remember a time in 2011 when I rode in temps below -15*F for over 1.5 hours in February. I have a T-shirt to prove it :) But that doesn't count for this thread.

Finally getting on this thread since returning from OkieSTOC. The ride to that event started out for the first 100 miles or so at 57*F. I think it may have dropped to 56*F for about 20 miles and came back up to 57.

On the way home yesterday morning, however, the temp dropped to 47*F for some miles and otherwise hovered around 54*F for over 30 miles and then up to 57*F for many more miles before it finally broke over 60.

This is in contrast to the prevailing temps during that event of lowest lows in the 60s and highs just over 90 while there.

Well, the thread is titled, Coldest Ride, 2019-2020 Winter, so I expect that means coldest rides in the 2019-2020 winter. Being in Australia in the soutern hemisphere, winter is June, July & August, so I expect a July 2019 ride counts.

Now that is COLD, and I reckon it deserves more than a T-shirt.

18 miles, between 30 and 33 degrees. First Gear textile jacket w/liner, Tourmaster Overpants, Aerostich leather gloves and the grip heaters on high. All of which brings me to ask, does anyone ride using the Aerostich Darien fleece liner? The one my jacket came with is ok but not much good at temps below 40 or so.

What a contrast. One week ago I was at OkieSTOC dealing with 91 deg F and very warm humid nights at the campground and right now it's 38 deg F with a freeze warning for Saturday and Monday mornings with temps at 31 deg F each morning.

Saw 46° twice on my way home from BRG yesterday... once around noon between Knoxville and Nashville (cold and rain) and again about 11pm between Texarkana and Dallas. When it started raining, I pulled over and put on my rain gear. 20 miles later the sun came out.

ST showed 37 all commute this morning (25 miles). Decided to slide on the long undies before the jeans today. Still at stage 1 winter gear. Stage 2 comes out for 20-30 range.
