Connie 14 owners beginning to report in

buffgunner, could you please measure the maximum width? I'm curious how it compares to the ST. I'm gonna go measure my ST1300.

Ray

Want me to measure the wing too.. just for giggles...

Okay.. ready... ready.. .wait for it... wait for it.. 34 inches for the Wing...

I have a friend that puts Givi bags on his Wee-strom. We're talking a whopping 48".

Ray

Wow.. If you add the wing mirrors into the measurement it's at least 44 inches..

The VFR w/givi bags also looks pretty wide.

The mirrors on the ST1300 look like 36-1/2".

Ray

To sum it up...

Bike Bags Mirrors
ST 32-1/4 36-1/2
GW 34 44
C14 38 42

Another bennie, I you carry a 350 pound pillion, there's a place for the extra flesh - kind of like what you see in Sturgis on the back of a sportster wearing a thong and chaps.

Uhg! :eek:4: I can't believe I even pictured that in my head! :doh1:
:crackup :crackup :crackup

I just seen a new Connie at my dealer today. Good looking bike. I DO like that they DON'T have the brakes linked. But, the VVT would kill the deal for me. I don't know why they couldn't have built the bike without all the BMW-ish gadgets like the K-pass, tire pressure monitor and VVT, etc.... Why can't someone just build a 500# bike in this class with sportbike caliber brakes and suspension and just stick to the basics?

Judging by that list of farkles on your ST1100, you don't hate the goodies that much.

:bow1: :bow1: :bow1: AMEN!!!

And that's 500lb. wet max for me please, with more upright comfortable ergos FULLY adjustable usd forks, with shock sporting hydraulic preload, high and low speed rebound/compression adjustments, and ride height. A shock that's rebuildable as well. A seat you can sit on for all day and flat foot (or near to) from, a passenger seat that's also angled right, comfortable, and some nice integrated looking hard bags. Oh yeah, plenty of ground clearance, 130hp (or more) at the rear wheel, big torque, an adjustable windshield, and outstanding handling. Oh yeah, reliable as well.

I'd sell a kid (well mine are too old and not within grabbing range to sell) to buy one of those. :)

I've still got an xs1100. Australian Model xs1.1 rh (sports version) Its agreat bike but not as comfortable as my st1100. The xs1100 is still pretty fast and handles resonably given its age. It is good to work on and eveything fits perfectly. Dare I say fit and finish is better than the honda

I loved that XS11. It was my first new bike. I had the touring front springs added, S&W shocks, and a set of Pirelli Phantoms. It was torquey, quick, and handled very well. With a windshield and vista cruise added, it took me on a 5000 mile trip in 1979. :)
