Heated grips & Piaa lights

DLR lights are not focussed so not blinding.

H4 LEDs use existing reflector.
Positioning of the LEDs is key to maintaining beam pattern. Hence recommended a supplier of LEDs.

You actually fit a carrier into H4 mount then fit LEDs into carrier. Only issue is to read instructions carefully as it is possible to fit LEDs inverted and this really screws up beam. Easily checked by marking beam pattern on inside of garage door then checking after replament with LEDs.

Bulbs in the units failed after a year replaced with some from ebay item 313030691217.

You need to wire a side light power feed to each mirror.

Really jealous of you guys getting 2017 PA spec bikes for £10K.
 
Oh and can turn off DLRs. Bike is A6 with permanently on lights. Fitted right-hand switchgear from A3 bike, sidelights permanently on, DLR switched by sidelight position on switch and H4s by headlight position on switch.
 
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I will do a little more research on the side lights before I pull the trigger. I think I read somewhere that US bikes already had the power wire too, so it is a plug and play option.

Not to rub it in, but I paid £7K for mine with all taxes and fees. It is new, however 4 years old and I did have brake issues from sitting. I think it is all sorted out, but vehicles that sit do strange things, so we will see if anything else pops up.

The clear turn signals with the clear/orange switchbacks don't really work well as anything other than just more white light up front. They are not a flood or spot in any manner. Same goes for the 2 peanut position marker bulbs by the headlight. They are all more just to be seen better by other drivers and for esthetics. They will not give you any issue that I'm aware of with regards to blinding others. The only time they might be bothersome to you perhaps is in fog - and that's a whole issues in itself anyways.

The only issue with the clear lenses and white/orange lights may be if your police are sticklers for orange/yellow side marker lights on a motorcycle.

If you put a set of F2 LED headlight bulbs in you may find you don't need or want any extra driving lights.

Welcome to the club, I got mine on November 13th

I'll be getting the Oxford premium touring. My other ST1300 came with Hondaline, but not sure those exist any more...

You got a super deal, mine was $10,400 after tax tags, title, and fees. Mine also came with a 5 year Honda factory warranty.
 
The turn signals are designed to be seen at off axis as well as head on for conspicuity so their beams could be described as a flood pattern. They just don't have the HP (lumens of course) to "flood" an area with light beyond a foot or three and only in your garage. It's just not that bright. It's a nice look to my eye. My bike has switchbacks so when the indicators are on they flash amber then return to the white running/position lights.

While we're on the subject - what's current wisdom on where to source the clear turn-signal lenses?
The stock lighting setup is pretty good on my 2008, but I'm good with going LED for more lumens / spread. The LED options / manufacturers / technology seems to still be somewhat of a moving target.
Being seen better by cagers is not a bad deal, either.

You can get the clear lenses for the 1300 on Ebay / Amazon / AliExpress etc.
They are not the same build quality as OEM's where the bulbs mount into the lens. Expect to have to do some trimming.

My money says all of the above sources sell exactly the same clear 1300 lenses all made by the same manufacturer in China. As mentioned they're a little rough (in the socket area) but look great once installed.

The ST's lighting was greatly improved by replacing the 45/45W halogen bulbs with 55/60W halogens. it was a big difference. But using LEDs is a HUGE difference. And we're a lot better off with LEDs now then were were just a few years ago.

spiderman302 has done extensive research with LED and lighting in general and shared his experience with a manufacturer in China for a much improved bulb. I think LEDs aren't all that much of a moving target now but there will always be room for some improvement or other.

The F2 brand/design of fusion bulb is well suited to most of our riding and it's design (worked out by spidey) is being copied by a could or more other manufacturers. So it's a win-win for us.

My Wing buddy is constantly mentioning how bright my headlights are. He's used to seeing my and others' murky halogens. Conspicuity is strong in this one. The flat beam cutoff keeps the bulbs from offending oncoming drivers.
 
So, which are THE definitive F2 brand and seller? I've seen F2s in yellow boxes. Are they all legit, and the same?
 
Evitek is the OEM and they sell it direct in the yellow box through alibaba via slow boat.
Evitek will create a new cover for the reseller with the resellers name and information.
Katana, Safego, Nineo, Alla Lighting, Icbeamer, Xtremevision, Hikari, and others are resellers on amazon.
These resellers can sell other OEM bulbs too. So you have to look at the details of the bulb not the box nor the reseller.

If I may ask, can you please either tell me the pertinent details to look for, or a couple of links to the real deal at best price?

I've seen those names, but I wouldn't know which actual model would be the real McCoy, and don't want to end up with :censored:.

Look for this style - as close as possible. You can get them boxed different and different names / specs. Just make sure you don't get the yellow light temp version and you get the white. I've only seen one yellow light temp version though with most being the white. The photos though will tell you if it's based on an F2.

I'd say they are all the same as what I got, just different sellers, prices and boxes. Just make sure you get the H4 models (high & low beam and 3 prong plug)
 
I went ahead and ordered the LEDs from Amazon above. $46 for a pair was the best deal I could find on the exact match.


Just to be clear, socket shims are still required for correct reflector positioning, correct?
