Installing LED Headlights On A ST1100

The power wire should be on the bottom but not at 6 o'clock but just slightly off. The ball should be clicked in place.
You will know if it is right if your beam pattern is flat on a motorcycle.
The H4 was designed for automobiles and the shield is not flat but slightly offset to be flat on the left side of the road and uptilt on the right to illuminate the road signs and pedestrians per dot. Automobile H4 headlights the top tab is at 12 o'clock but motorcycles headlights it is offset to remove the right side uptilt and make the beam pattern flat.
They made the leds adjustable in this regard so that you could use it either way, and for those who ride on the other side of the road...

Thanks for the info Spiderman . I did scratch my head a little before they went in. The testing I have done - In tunnels with dim light and strait stretches in almost dark , seems to show a good pattern . The knob for vertical makes that adjustment a breeze .

The outer ring should snap off the F2 bulbs. Just takes a bit of force.

Mine had detent holes and a ball to lock it in place. (see arrow) The circled part is all one piece and the rest of the bulb twists in it.

The body will come out of the positioning ring.

I can't speak to how they fit on an st1100 housing boot though, only on my st1300. No cutting was required as I recall.

What method did you use to attach the ballasts?
